Mostly it's all about the cosmetics - older models are the ones without the finger groves.
The newer Glocks are offered with the metal sights (including the night ones) - finally they figured out that plastic isn't all that great material for the sights
From what I heard the newer models have improved trigger spring as well.

Glock's ROCK !, love my 9 and my .45
They're all pretty much the same in regards to look and feel, but there are some variations. Apart from the different classes (standard, compact, sub-compact), the .45 and 10mm models have wider frames.
Some models are offered in a SF configuration which stands for "short frame". These have picatinny rails, ambi mag releases, and a reduction in grip size. There's also "slimline", which as far as I know is only available with a Glock 36 right now. This just means it has a slimmer frame. Then there's the competition models that have longer barrels and slides, adjustable sights, and extended slide and magazine releases. Lastly there are the "C" models, which just have slots cut into the slides and barrels to reduce muzzle climb. These are supposed to work like compensators but in my experience they're pretty useless. They do produce quite a cool flash, though.

Only the 21 and 30 right now, 20 coming very soon, heck it might already be here. I don't know how much shorter they could make the 9mm frames. It's only for the 45 and 10mm glocks so far.
Glocks all look the same, handle the same, work the same. It's one of the features if you ask me. There are cosmetic differences between the various generations, different grips, etc. And of course different sizes, but a good portion of the little ones need to have barrels sticking far out the slide to be legal here.

Guys should really cut that stuff out about Glock kB, we all know it's the user's fault for using lead or high pressure reloads or something.
Just get a good aftermarket barrel if you're scared of the infinitesimal chance of something happening, a change that's just as much as other firearms (look at the kB'd 1191s and that FiveseveN handgun that almost took the user's fingers off) so really guys, have fun. Glocks are awesome.

Thanks. I was inquiring because I was interested in an ambi-release for the mags on a Glock.
Glocks are awesome...have a look at the most common police sidearm in North America...it is a Glock...what is the most commonly used IDPA pistol? A Glock 34, of course... Plus, I shoot a Glock, and I have impeccable taste in guns, vehicles, women, and anything else you might want my opinion on...
