Shot a squeeze cocker HK 9mm once a short while ago. Didn't care for it personally.

NAA.

At one time the OPP were putting the P7 through trials, only thing is you better have a strong grip to sustain that squeeze cocker.

????The the squeeze cocker on a P7 is not even noticeable once it is depressed. So I'm not sure where you got your info. You can hold it with one finger (once depressed) no problem.

True enough but my sister, who suffers from arthritis, is completely unable to squeeze my PSP firmly enough to #### it. I find it easy to #### and easier to hold but not especially comfortable to shoot. Can't speak for accuracy; I'm a minute-of-barn-door shooter, myself.

The best thing about the P7 is it is (so far as I know) the safest pistol design ever manufactured. If the time ever comes, I would feel totally comfortable with a P7 but not with almost anything else. It is also quite concealable even though it is only a bit smaller than most restricted handguns -- thin and flat.

i dont understand why threads like " looking for a gun with 105mm barrel" exist. guns are bigger / heavier the better for target use. this H&K looks pretty aweful to shoot. if you are those odd gun collector then i understand.but what is there to love for guns like G26 fitted with an extended barrel and 2 finger grove grip. that just look even more ridiculous .

You're joking right? I'm going to leave it at that. I just got cleared of an infraction.

So you wouldn't buy it because it's ugly? Look at Glocks, butt ugly, if you want pretty guns look elsewhere. At one time the OPP were putting the P7 through trials, only thing is you better have a strong grip to sustain that squeeze cocker.

Wrong. 14 pounds to squeeze, one pound to maintain.

im quite amazed, CGNers have grown up it seems, I did a similar thread about the Springfield XD, and got bashed big time. I guess springfield has more supporters around here, so that's why I got bashed:D

As to the P7, well I've shot one and I too felt uncomfortable shooting it, but that's just me. as any other HK, they're over priced

I only handled a PSP model...I used to think are are ridiculasly ugly guns reminded me of a pump flashlight :D but I'd get one of they were cheaper (or if I had more spare cach). Only because I liked how small it was mind you.

That's a good one. I thought it was a bit like a stapler or one of those 1950's muscle man hand spring squeezers.

1. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
2. They are likely the smallest Canadian-legal pistols - if concealment is your deal.
3. They shoot like a laser.
4. Their safety system is almost idiot-proof.... (highly skilled idiots not withstanding)

"the smallest Canadian-legal pistols - if concealment is your deal."

Since you can't carry concealed? How is this relevant or sound argument?

If you could carry, why would you carry this over a G19?

"safety system is almost idiot-proof"

So are the 4 universal rules of firearms handling with a Glock!

Sorry, it must have been the 400 rounds plus that did it that range day. When I'm firiing it I have a hard time adjusting my pressure to let up to maintain the de-cocker.

Accurate as hell, beautiful gun though.

I think the p7 looks AWESOME. It's so simple and I like the way it's balanced. I don't have one, but I got to hold one a while back and I thought it was great.

I wouldn't but it for many reasons, only one of then being that I don't personally find the look esthetically pleasing. I'd like to try one as I would like to try every handgn at least once including a Desert Eagle .50 cal which is pleasing to the eye in silver but butt ugly/tacky in gold. (Just a little boost to keep it interesting)

I think because the XD shares a lot of characteristics with other polymer pistols you likely had lots of owners of the genre coming after you. The HK squeeze cocker has a much smaller niche. Gotta choose your targets carefully because there's nothing more lethal than a gunnut who thinks you're dissing their chosen pistola.
:D

Absolutely it is. So convince me otherwise. 15+1 rounds of reliability in the small battle tested g19 format. Yep, I am biased. One becomes biased based on personal experience.

I have seen people in classes with the HK really hold up the class, especially when not familiar with the platform.

My only comment about safety is that safety begins and ends with the shooter and his/her religious adherence to ACTS & PROVE. Anything past that is like Ford vs Chevy in a safety test. And again I don't understand the obsession with concealability in Canada. How about a comment on that?

I think they are a unique design. I enjoy shooting my P7 model, too bad magazines are expensive and hard to find, I was lucky to get three more for mine. And the squeeze #### is quite easy (for me) to hold once cocked, can be held in place with one finger.

The P7 is a legendary design. Its a natural pointer and very low recoil. The design is top rate, the only negative is that they get bit hot after usage.

I like them too, don't think I'd go M13 but the rest is strangely appealing......

Gotta go check the, uh, 'service rifle' forum.......
