02-03 May Service Rifle/Carbine Practice & FUN Match

Invite letters? Just email me: hungry556@rogers.com So that you can obtain an invite letter for a CFO issued Temporary ATT to CFB Boredom.

Yes, payment ? See me or TimK on Sat AM. Trust me, we are gonna have a great time. None of you have ever shot one of my (and TimK's) fun matches. You will be challenged as RifleDude and Quiet and Sevey will attest! :nest:

And many of you thought that you had lots of fun at my M14 Clinics, eh? Git Ready! Practice your mag changes! :)

There will not be a crap load of standing around and goofing off. Remember TimK will be running the line and I'll be moving you guys along in the butts!!

Darn, I'd better get off my butt and zero or center my M14 that I use to carry out the M14 clinics with.

Okay, who else is wearing their plate carrier(s) and SAPI plates :p ??

Sounds like I'm gonna have a heck of a time.

edit.

Alright, Im not sure i have everything ready.

I have:

- Rifle yes
- mags yes
- ammo yes
- ear muffs yes
- money yes
- some sort of rig to carry my ammo and mags...well not really. any tips on what i should bring?

Got a tac vest ? Pouches or shingles?

Think also about:

Raingear, folding chair, H2O bottles, I'll bring sunscreen and bug dope, lunch for both days. Okay, thought about where you are staying ? On page 2 of this thread you will find a bunch of motels in Angus or maybe Barrie.

Thoughts ?

Hehe, well i just opened an old "army toy" box, and i have an american webbing which i can use with my AR, has 2 mag pouches, 2 canteens and a butt pack, belt and suspenders. I also have some vz58 mag pouches (2x).

Ya'll gonna have a nice laugh at me. :D

edit.
I've modded my pouches a bit so they'll be easier to use.

Excellent, no chit chat - just more bullets down range!

There should be ZERO of standing around, other than lunch break ( should be 30 minutes instead of 1 hours to begin with......)

You should bring along some kind of optics to view the shot markers. You will definitly need them when you are zeroing at the 500 metre mound. Binos or spotting scope.

Dress for the weather. Bag a lunch.

What if you don't have anything like that?

Then you may be able to borrow some at the match, but if you are going to stick with service rifle shooting you will need to get a good set of binos or a spotting scope to see and score from the longer distances.

I have a spotting scope, so no problem.

So what distances will we be shooting at? I've never been to one of these matches, so what should i expect?

I want to come and watch all these fat guys running around.
I'll be at Epps for a bit, I can swing by........

Is there a spectator fee?

If you can do more chin-ups than I do, I will run 100m with my rifle for every proper chin-up you can do in a row. ;)

Otherwise, you have to run 100m with your rifle for every proper chin-up I can do.

Saturday you will be zeroing at 100 all the way back to 500, should not take you long to shoot a group and make the necessary corrections. TimK and/or I will be there to encourage you accordingly ;)

Sunday ? In the AM ... we'll see what we can do to make it happen.
