Duracoat help Cz 858/ Vz 58s

okay

i need well thought out and proper procedures on taking apart the cz/vz completely.

what kind of sanding, cleaner, paint remover will I need prior to using Duracoat out of a can...

well thought out answers, as this is a big step and many people will want to know.

Perhaps you didn't know or care, the CZ 858 and the VZ are both parkerized underneath the crappy paint.
I don't know if that is going to change your mind or not, but I figured it would be worth mentioning.

well the paint is starting to chip, makes the rifle look bad.

Mine is chipped as well, so I hear what your saying.
I forget the name of the chemical you can use to get off the crappy paint. Once you remove the paint you will have the same look as an AR15 barrel.

These are mill serp rifles designed for full auto at one time, removing the paint isn't going to hurt it.
I have put over 7,000 rounds through mine, thats like what? 1 (one) afternoon of drill for a rifleman?

hmm duracoat in a can?, i dont have a compressor or spray gun any ideas?

As I mentioned, it's a chemical that you can get that will remove it. No compressor or spray gun needed. I think a specific acid will work as well.

I used circa 1851 paint stripper to remove the paint from my CQ311, it worked fine. I then sandblasted the the lower, upper and barrel for the duracoat.

The chipped paint, and roughed up wood furniture is what I would call character. But I would like to see what yours looks like after duracoating. Keep us posted!
