Hey, I've got a whelen, thinking about a 338....For those that have tried both are they redundant or can the 338 reach out a fair farther?

Q?? ...... How much heavy game do you shoot between 300 and 500yds?Ya, ballistics charts for the whelen seem a bit harder to come by....but my research show that the whelen is a good 300y gun and the 338 a 500y round.
