I bought my first Glock about a month ago, a Glock 30 from Questar. It's one of those sub-compact pistols with the longer barrel for Canada, I went with the ported one.

Today a friend and I went out and did some shooting with it. I am thoroughly unimpressed. The pistol likes to eject the rounds onto your head, if not in your face. They don't eject with authority, just kind of tumble out. You also can't manipulate the slide stop with your shooting hand, it is too stiff. It isn't easy to move with your weak side hand either! I think it will loosen up but it is ridiculously hard to move.

It's cheap, I just feels like a garbage gun. At this point the only thing this gun has going for it is being small. That and you can't get them anymore, apparently. This is my first and last Glock.

Sounds like you got a really s**tty one!!! Your craptacular glock is only worth half of what you paid. This one in particular since it throw brass in your face is worth yet half again.....So how's $250 sound for it? LOL

I guess everyone else is wrong and glocks suck.....

You picked the wrong model for your first Glock.
Try one in 9mm...just as God, or Gaston Glock intended.....preferably a 34, 17, or 19..in that order.
Had my 17 and 34 out to the range today....no worries...stone ax reliable...as accurate, in my hands, as my other 9mm pistols....
Glocks in other calibres....just not as good as in 9mm..

Why would you buy a subcompact anyway? Waste of money.

I borrowed a heavily used and seldom-cleaned Glock for a course of shooting a while back and I was sold. Bought a G17 and 21c myself shortly afterwards, they're impeccable.

I have had casings land on my head before, but I think its because it bounced off the shooting screens I had to my left and right.

Just what kind of shooting position do you have, if you're saying the brass kinda just tumbles out...into your face. Try not holding the gun over top of your head when you shoot Lok-Dawg Homie G :p

Unless you're from TO or Hongcouver that is

Buying the compact models in Canada is useless as you have to get them with after market barrels. I have a G17 and G21 SF which are both flawless. In fact, my G21 SF outshoots my Sig P220. There's a reason why most police departments use them. And it's not just because of the price. They work and they work well.

Glocks are the best, bar none.

Their light, reliable, easy to fix, have few moving parts, a fantastic finish, an above average trigger, never jam.......Would you like me to keep going?

Mostly true with the exception of the above average trigger, mine comes in at 8lbs :(

Mostly true with the exception of the above average trigger, mine comes in at 8lbs :(

Yeah, the 8 pound trigger is all part of Glocks "3 safety system", of which none are really safeties.

I don't mind them, to be honest.

I'm also not a big fan of the stock Glock sights, but whatever.

glock only got it right with the 17 and 19 and even then their pistol needs a lot of work to make it perfect (as is a complete frame redesign)
