Doing a bit of price checking and found that armco is selling a used S&W performance center 686 for $1199.

The thing is the shootist in AB is selling the same gun new for $1199.

I understand that armco is a site sponsor but that does not give him the right to try and rip off the people of this site that put trust in him. People should be able to consider a site sponsor to be someone who is honest and fair to deal with.

sorry for the rant.

Make sure to shop around or ask member(s) gun values.

Rip off is a pretty strong contention...

Gunnar is a respected pistol smith, and gives all his stock a thorough once over and evaluation.

By comparison, go ahead and do a search to find the number of late model NEW S&W revolvers members have bought and had problems with...

I feel that Gunnar's prices are pretty fair most of the time, and if they are high, he brings them down in order to move them.

Thumbs up for Gunnar.

+1 for the price at gunnar. He gives me price for exchange hard to beat, So, yes , He is doing some mark up, but when the gun is not moving, Gunnar will lower it. And the gun I bought from Gunnar were as described and ready to go.

If you don't like the price, don't buy it! Shopping around is the buyer's responsibility.

Ya.. quite the rant for someone just basing things on dollar value.... Dont like it, dont buy it...

The new one is special priced on sale. It's probably old stock and selling at cost to clear it out. I'm not sure that the performance center is even making that model anymore.

Either way you'll get a great gun. Certainly no "rip off".

So what? Buy the new one and move along.
+1 or... have you contacted Gunnar? Have you made him aware of the other gun?
Perhaps the new one is being given away by the dealer (who doesn't know the value or is clearing house) and Gunnar's price is correct or maybe Gunnar mispriced his.

There are hundreds, maybe thousands of of gunnutz here that will tell you they're satisfied with the deals that Gunnar makes.
You're being a little rash.

Are they indeed the same firearm? I've bought from Gunnar at fair market value and indeed i got exactly what i was promised. I,m as far from BC as you can get and still be in canada, and would buy again from gunnar without a thought. If he says its in excellent condition it is.

Sorry
Was supposed to be an fyi post on the price.
Guess I got carried away.

Ya think?
Ah well, at least you had the decency to apologize. Anyone can screw up, not everyone will admit it. You did, now go, and sin no more. :D

I drove an hour and a half today to pick up two

Was I robbed?.....Yes!!!
Did I put my hands up in the air and leave with two bottles of Varget?..
YES!!!!!!
Did I shop around beforehand?
Yes!!

Thats awesome , Gonna start watching this , good deals are hard to come by, I hate retail plus 10 % , plus 13 or 15 % tax , plus shipping,
I have noted that western gun slingers pay less, big time, I think this fine fella Gunner is a bloody Gold Digger , but thats just fine. Who isn't :D:redface:
I remember reading some of the history of my folks , they were from up northern Scotland . Same deal , try and get a battle ready longbow , 300 arrows for under 3 sheep, and 5 orders of fish 'n chips.:mad:from the wennies down south.:D

You have to remember, the fluctuation you see is dependent on the time the dealer buys the firearm and its correlation to the US dollar. The volatility in the US dollar has been approx. 15% over the last 4 months. You should expect prices to be up or down in that range. I would also add, Gunnar could have added tremendous value to that particular used firearm but if this is true, he should advertise it. Remember too, firearms in excellent condition (read: very near new), do not lose much value anyway. Guns are not like cars or computers.

Have we come to this:rolleyes:, So lets make it a rule then ! can't talk prices from the fellas up top , other than in a positive way? Thats fine for you , but not this fella, I work to hard for my dollars...:D , So suck it up dealers all, the ones that give the best deals get the money. !
