Why? You went and got your shotgun (club) and then didn't secure and account for your family first?

You don't have a plan with them if there is an intruder I guess...?

Straight to the intimidation and butt strikes!

Because unlike you, i am not itching to pull on trigger on someone. My single shotgun allows for the intimidation and 99% of intruders will run away. The other 1% will get bunch of shot in the gut as i do not believe in "warning" shots.

As for rifle being optimum for home defense, i will strongly disagree. Walls are really thin in Canada. I would be too concerned about over penetration. Remember that little bit about being sure what is beyond your target?
Seems you like ignoring common sense safety rules.

I haven't ignored anything. What part of "keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and the CONSCIOUS decision to fire has been made" With that in mind, I'm not concerned about over penetration. The possibility for over penetration(OP) exists with all firearms. Why would you opt for a multiple projectile firearm with the responsibility for all projectiles when you could run a rifle? All OP factors aside. None of the legal aspects come into play until AFTER YOU'VE SURVIVED THE ENCOUNTER.

Strange how you assume the picture of a fat idiot is aimed at you.

Yeah ok? The act of an ad hominem attack is one against the character or perceived character of the individual in question. Either way it doesn't matter. Your comment as well as those above lack anything resembling valid arguments thus proving my point.

Try again.

Good lord, you really need to shut off the X-box, forget about tactically sweeping your home from room to room to make sure the Boogie Man or Willam Dafoe isn't hiding somewhere, turn off your night light and get laid. You sir, are one very scary individual and I thank the Lord I don't live next to you. I can only imagine your poor Neighbors when you think you hear a bump in the night and put a bullet through your wall and theirs because you've had a bad dream. Excuse me, but I've got grown up things to do right now...

Yap,yap,yap. But no denial.
I guess we both believe the picture of the fat idiot was aimed at you.

More speculative remarks. Do you have anything to add to the discussion regarding SXS shotguns for HD??? I didn't think so.

You could be a detective. Seeing how I'm the only one posting valid information and no one has yet to argue anything I've posted. I'd say all the childish posts are directed towards me. Am I wrong?

I'll ask you the same thing I asked Pharaoh2. Do you have anything to add to the discussion regarding SXS shotguns for HD??? I didn't think so.

TDC

Sure. You willing to kick down the door of a house knowing there's two barrels of hot lead waiting for you inside? Didn't think so.

Are you saying you keep your shotgun loaded?? I thought you obeyed all laws pertaining to firearms? If I were a criminal looking for goods I wouldn't B/E when the home is occupied. If I knew the home owner was armed I would select an easier target.

TDC

I'm tired of you. While you sit there jerking off to your tactical POS, those of us who "USE" our shotguns do just fine without the likes of you, oh grand high puba of upper butt crack, telling us what's a valid argument and whats not. I don't worry about having to fire 20 shots into a herd of crooks. I worry about knocking down birds. You want to show your expert abilities with a shotgun? Prove it.

Did I miss something? I don't see any arguments relating to the original topic. I appreciate your honesty, you use your shotgun for hunting fowl. Obviously your primary concern is having a tool suited for the task. Unfortunately a bird gun isn't ideal for HD. If its all you've got run with it.

As for proving my abilities how so?

TDC

ETA: If you're "tired" of me you can stop posting and stop reading. In fact, you can even put me on your ignore list.

Gee don't you think a rifle would "over penetrate" (your words not mine) more than say Buckshot might? Please tell me where you got your training from. You need to get a refund.

No contradiction. The charge and projectile weights in rifle ammunition are linear. Semi auto shotguns are designed to accomodate "all" loads and styles of shot which doesn't provide consistent reliability. I said semi auto shotguns are heavy and unreliable when compared to pump guns. I also stated that a shotgun is not my first choice for HD and isn't the most ideal choice for the task.

TDC

LOL So does that mean you can't hand load for a Semi Auto rifle? Or do you have to check with your Hornady "linear" reloading guide?

In my home, this is my tactical light.

For what it's worth, I own and use pump guns too. For a duck gun, their great. :)

That's a decent home defense light. I don't know if it qualifies as tactical. The switch cover isn't tactical black.

Here's mine.

A dual switch gang box with brushed stainless switch cover. It has four screws for extra security and I can turn on the other light if the bulb in the first one malfunctions.

Can you imagine a doing a bulb change when your single light goes down and the bad guys are in your face? Two lights always beats one.

I like to hit them with both switches. I go with the traditional switches. Everyone knows dimmers are so unreliable!

You've also got the old fashioned narrow switch! What are you some kind of Fudd?

I prefer the wide switch as it's easier to operate when I'm wearing my tactical gloves and tactical PJ's (dark spidey underoos) at night.

I've ordered a Phillips Tactical Bulbholder that holds six florescent bulbs so I can speed load my lamps when needed.

Slot-heads? Proud Canadians use Robertson head screws.

There aren't enough Canadian suppliers for the hardware! If only we had more of a Canadian based switch cover business. For the five of us who would buy them. Plus the U.S. has all these restrictions. Now we can't have threaded covers. I had to take my last cover to Casey at Tactical Lighting and have the holes threaded for the screws! What a pain...

I must have missed something:confused: I did not see you post anything valid?

My opinion on what is best for HD? Whatever I happen to have on hand when my home needs defending. I see no advantage of it having to look too tacticool or fit into someone else's idea of tacticool. SXS guns are easy to use and would work fine.:D I see no advantage of keeping a firearm that looks like it was designed especailly for HD. I do not think that discussion of deliberate violation of Canadian law is in any way tactical or tacticool:(
