Those are not the factory grips and it also came with a small box that held ammo in it.

$2500 if all the pieces are there. They are really nice deep blueing, looks like black chrome.

The factory grips are very nice Pachmayr vindicator style grips with the Colt logo on the grips.

Are you sure the serial # doesn't begin with a K1 or other prefix infront of the 94XX? It's going to be around 1981. It should come with Pachmayr rubber combat grips with the rampant colt symbol, a blue case with cleaning bits and a 50 round blue case as well. Estimate: $1,600 / 1,900 US.

Check this link to a package like yours: Just scroll down a bit.

Very nice. I'll ask a source on another forum about the year. I've heard that the case alone has sold for up to $450 when you can find one.

Edit - Got the year - your's is a 1980

I also thought they were only from 1981 but the serial # LA 92XX shows 1980 according to chart below from one of the Colt gurus from "The Colt Forum" in the US. Many thanks to him for the info which is not available through "Proofhouse" which only goes up to 1978. I also checked the serial # of another hunter on Guns America that numbered to 1982. Beyond that i guess a person would have to either call Colt (1-800-962-COLT) or do online search or review Colt books.

would $1700 cdn. be a good deal? or how much would anyone willing to pay?

According to recent GunBroker and GunsAmerica auctions I would say that's a good deal for both buyer & seller, especially considering that in Canada the item has a smaller group of more special interest buyers. One of those rare occasions where it would go for a bit less here than the USA. Also, I don't hunt myself and correct me if I'm mistaken but I don't think handgun hunting is permitted in Canada and as a result perhaps fewer interested parties.

Ya thats a good deal even considering its missing the ammo box. I would think you would be lucky to find excellant condition Hunter complete kit for $2500ca.

I think these are the rarest of the Colt Pythons, they have the old super deep royal blueing (looks like black chrome) and Colt marked scope.

Thats just a rare package!
