Would this be frowned upon?

Camo clothing is not encouraged within IDPA as well, in fact I have yet to see it at a match of any kind. Given the concept of the sport there is no reason to be wearing camo clothing anyway.

oh come on bob, stop the bull####.... if I remember correctly dave wore camo pants while shooting the provincials.... and we also have several members who use a camo jacket for a cover garmet and we also have ALOT of members who have ATC's and wear the same as they would in the bush

if your going to discriminate because of what a person wears whats next, no fat people... no people with disabilities, no indians..... where does it stop ??

any rule limiting the clothing is a load of ####..... as long as the clothing is "appropriate" and covers the entire body. (that being said, women are encouraged to shoot in bikinis)

what is funny is there is no bikini rule.... someone could get seriously hurt shooting in a bikini.

Well as an artist I am deeply offended that the skull is anatomically incorrect, but that's just me.

It's the logo of Marvel Comics' Punisher series with Frank Castle as the protagonist.

Ironic that something designed to make you blend in...actually makes you stand out.

Food for thought...Don't you find it odd that you actually remember what Dave wore to a match  Christ I can't remember what I wore to work yesterday.

and I was wrong, dave was wearing what looked to be 5.11 pants.... but then I think we should ban the use of photog vests as comcealment garments, you might as well be wearing a flag screaming I GOT A GUN

well I hung out with him for the week I was there, he was my idpa buddy ;) ;)

I was sure he was wearing camo pants somewhere but went back and checked the pictures and he was not... but I did find a couple of others where people are wearing camo.

like who cares what is worn..... who really gives a ####, if you have a problem with "attitude" then deal with that issue. are we going to ban someone for being old ?? HA, bob we ban you since your over 60.

Wes Dan wore Camo pants big deal. Did you see anyone else wearing them? Nope. In some quarters wearing a vest is looked down upon as folks who think that way claim it screams gun (CCW States). Others think some folks think to much.

IPSC Canda doesn't condone camo and the world is coming to an end.

IDPA had recently intorduced a new logo. Why, because we have areas in the US and in Europe where the exisiting logo is found to be offensive. Why change it? Public preception. No big deal. Just a solution to a problem. The decision also hasn't hurt sales of new logoed clothing either I am told.

You want to walk around looking like a tree, go for it. My statement stands it just hasn't been a big deal at any of our shoots.

As an aside I have never seen or heard any suggestion that women are encouraged to wear bikinis in any action shooting sport in order to compete. We are trying to get women into the shooting sports not run them off.

As to the gun crips. Cool! I may get a pair for my 1911 with the Cdn flag on one side and the Alberta flag on the other.

Eeited to correct Statement: Westicle is a paid up member of IPSC BC.

you make my point for me, why encourage anyone to wear anything..... hell it is not against the rules for me to shoot shirtless..... in either IPSC or IDPA..... hell if it is hot I may do it.

to have a rule that says "no camo" is stupid.... plain and simple.

Never mind the camo...Is this a remote camera...or is some knot head standing that far in front of the firing line

Wes it ws -15C with a wind blowing and Paul wore his insulated hunting pants. If you look closely my winter boots have a camo pattern on them. What is your point?

As an aside our snow snake shoot is a club event not associated with either IPSC or IDPA so your example is rather week.

You are makig a mountain out of a mole hill.

Have a cup of coffee and wind down.

oh my god bob, you where wearing camo boots.... mother of god, you should be banned because you are putting the shooting sports in a bad light because your wearing camo.....

does headquarters know about this travesty, have you informed IPSC canada ??? camo camo camo.... oh my god. you baby killer.

I don't think the problem lays with hunting camo, especially in colder weather places.
Some guys wear them, because they stay warm, that is all to it.
Problems is in my opinion the whole type army-macho look.
I know very little about IDPA, but I assume it is a sport like IPSC, nothing more or nothing less.

PeterPan

It is a sport very similar to IPSC. The sport arose at a a time when it's founder wanted to see a sport grow based upon defensive shooting skills associated with concealed carry in the US. The intent was to have a sport that utilized relatively inexpensive equipent. Remember this was before IPSC came out with "Production" division and at a time when there was a major equipment race going on in USPSA, in part due to the development of the aftermarket gun parts industry. The latter beind a chicken and egg thing really.

It is a sport, nothing more, nothing less.

Wes if you don't understand the problem you will never get to the solution.

Why not start a new thread with a poll and see what action shooters think?

As far as this guys grips go they are great looking. You are just pi$$ed because you can't get a grip panel with a naked lady on it for your Glocks. Just one more reason to buy a 1911.

From that picture I think we really need to be concerned with plaid lumberjackets instead.

I mean just what sort of message are we trying to send?

I agree 100%.... you must wear shirts like this when shooting "sport".... just like when bowling, you got to have the outfit to make the game more fun.

neither sport allows drop leg holsters so that weeds out the commandos... ;)
