Anybody know what IPSC really means

In the first Google result line it says the answer. Don't even need to visit the page. But he wasn't looking for the real answer. Don't know why he didn't just come out and say what he wanted though.Even easier way to figure this out is to type in IPSC into google, then go to the search result that matches your term.

this definition was around on the Wet Coast as early as the late 1980s.
I don't remember who said it first ...
but it was so apt, it stuck.
And this definition agrees with my personal opinion, which was earned after 12 years of IpSC, including shooting three Canuckistani champs, and more Provincial champs than I can remember.
I was around when they started IPSC here in Canada, and back they had a capital P in there somewhere.
But when the gamesmen started sewing belt loops down low on their hips, on to their day glo spandex racing tights,
well,
that was about when I got out.
Not that there is anything wrong with fat old men wearing day glo spandex ...
I do it all the time when riding my bicycle.
But somehow it just doesn't seem to live up to the word "PRACTICAL".

Impractical Pricks Shooting in Cillzone.

With jam-o-matics....no less...the pricks.
some are just joking,.....others have not tried it,..or are afraid if they try it they will do poorly. This is just too much for their ego. The same people may claim it is not "real" enough; I guess paper targets are not real enough. I am not speaking for IPSC in any way,... but I think IPSC will survive with out them.
The folks that continue to shoot in IPSC usually have the best attitude, and are great for the sport. They are the same folks you can joke around with,...talk about equipment, stage challenges, and even politics. Even if they don't win or place in the top of their respective divisions, or even have a bad match performance, you will see them at the the next few matches, because they enjoy shooting in a competitive environment.

Tried it..got my ass kicked by the guys using open guns in .38 Super.
I was using a straight production gun, was getting a little better times than guys who placed in 1st place in production at the matches. I just went to practices, don't have time for matches. But I know that I'm a pretty good shot.
If a guy is shooting at you with a gun...are you going to rush into that room as "fast as you possibly can". No. Hence. Impractical Pricks Shooting in Cillzone. Its just not for me, but its a good recreational shooting sport for handgun enthusiasts. Its a fun game.

You have a Black Badge? You would or should know that you would get beat by most guys /girls with Open guns. You would also know that you compete against other production gun shooters. Time is almost irrelevant,..as your score is divided by your time to get a hit factor which determines your placing overall per stage against shooters using the same division guns. You would or should know that IPSC is a not a train you to kill other human beings sport. It is a shooting sport. IDPA or CDP has is a little more orientated to the speed you would like to go,...so instead of going in guns blazing,..you can go in an pie the corners,...threat assess,..etc..etc.
