Imperial Defence or Dlask AR?

Neither?

Stag or Norinco for your first one, in my humble opinion. Norinco is probably MUCH closer to 'mil spec' than either one of Dlask or Imperial Defence.

Flame suit ON. My opinion only.

I'd go with Dlask, although based on the ID that I've seen there's nothing wrong with them. How many times are you going to be able to buy a gun where you're that close to the factory?

Does the usa not allow norincos?
And I am under the impression that noricos aren't very good guns.
And by not very good I mean not high quality. That said I do own a norinco sks and it works good, but it didn't cost me a fortune.
Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

I like Colt and DPMS. If I was choosing between the two you mention though, I think I would go with the Dlask because it is Canadian Made. Regarding Imperial Defense, I really don't like the idea of buying a product from a country that won't allow its own citizens to own it. That being said, if a nice shorty came my way at a retardly low price....

Buy Canadian when ever possible(is my motto). If price is a huge factor and you gotta have one now, buy a Norinco. I have a Dlask lower, I'm still saving for an upper. I have a Norinco AR and as long as it gets cleaned after every use it's good to go. The Dlask has fit and finish. The Norinco works and I don't care if it gets scratched.

The IDS has some advantages over any other commercially available, off the shelf units. The chrome-plated bolt carrier and bolt assembly components, M4 style feed ramps, bayonet lug, available in shorter barrel lengths.

Its is also very reliable and accurate as anything out of the box.

I currently have almost 1,000 rounds through mine with no cleaning other than re-lubing the moving parts in a quasi-torture test. I have had 3 FTF'd due to the cheep steel mags supplied with it, being installed on a closed-bolt.

It works brilliantly with PMAgs and LAR-15 10 rounders.

The downside is the coating on the lower is a bit rough.

I have shot it out to 500 yards with Iron sights and mine has a 10.5" barrel. At standard 200 yard distance it shoots better than I can by a wide margin.

Don't get me wrong, I love the DLasks, but they are about $300 more expensive. Buy what you like, but you will not be dissapointed in the performance of the IDS.

If you want an 'M4', why would you want a 16"+ barrel?

A 'real' M4 is a 14.5" barrel.

There are plenty of 16" barreled AR's floating around with collapseable stocks. Personally, I would buy a Stag, LMT, or Sabre Defence gun before I'd consider the Imperial or Dlask.

I think he was saying he doesn't want a 16" + barrel that is why he was looking at Dlask and Imperial Defense. If you had to choose between the two go with the Dlask. The Imperial Defense would be my last option and I would even go with the Norinco before ID.

Ahh that makes sense. Brain fart last night. :)

why norinco at all?

norinco has a very competetive series of .45s on the market for less than half the price of any of the competition. A basic para is say about 900 dollars and a norinco 45 is less than half. The fit and finish on these guns is pretty good considering, and they look decent. Ambi safety, and other features make them a pretty good option. A norinco ar-15 looks like garbage. The fit of the parts might be close to mil-spec, but i cant beleive the quality is even close to my bushmaster. That said, the norinco is still going to be over a grand with taxes from most retailers. Who in their right mind would pay that much when for a few hundred more they can have something that doesnt look like it fell off the garbage truck. Norinco needs to get their S*** together and lower the price to about 600, and improve the looks and fit of their ar, otherwise i think you would be crazy to buy one!

I think it's pretty clear you've never held or even seen a Norinco M4 in real life.

Most people who #### on the ID have not shot one and some have not even seen one other than pictures. Look at them all then make your own choice.

I recently saw both the norinco and ID side by side. The finish on the carry handle of the norinco was terrible but the rest of the gun looked pretty good. The ID on the other hand was coated in what looked like a shiny black enamel paint of which I immediately thought of it as crap. I haven't shot either so I cannot comment on either in a sense of reliability or accuracy but that aside I would take the Norinco before the ID based on their appearance and not to mention that both are made in China (ID assembled in the UK) and the Norinco is about 600 dollars cheaper.

If you by an imperial defense rifle, you are actually buying a norinco, but for almost twice the cost. From what i understand they bought most of the parts from north china industries and put it together themselves with maybe a few parts from elsewhere.

If its between the two, i would without a doubt go Dlask, but if not that get a Norinco -
Theres no better value out there for an M4.

i actuall have seen the norinco cq, or m4. I have even handled one and had it side by side with an armalite and a bushmaster. Have you ever seen one of these guns? For the record would you start a thread saying that you recommend everyone consider a norinco as the best option in ar-15's?Because you cannot even compare a norinco to most other manufacturers. Was i wrong in the price? norinco is made in china junk, that is getting better. Their carbines look like they fell off the garbage truck!!!!I own a norinco 1911, and even like it. The only thing i am considering is that maybe they have some back east that have a better fit and finish? Still sounds like terrible advice to tell someone to buy one! Not everyone wants their first car to be a k-car, or their first pair of binos to be tasco. Use your head, and think about value for money.
