I have one of these on my SKS, initially I tried it in lieu of the issue rear leaf sight without a trigger job being done on the gun, and I was sort of surprised that I got very much worse sized groups than when I was using it with the issue sights, anyways, I got a trigger job done on her, and it helped out the accuracy quite a bit, the peep is very good to use at 100 yards, now for the drawback, the Tech sight people claim the sight is adjustable for elevation and windage, well they thought out the windage quite well, but the elevation adjustment is quite frankly a joke, there is a very small plastic(?) dial on there that you are supposed to turn to get the elevation on, but you would have to have fingers as small as a spider to get the thing to turn, so I resorted to adjusting the front sight to getting to the elevation on at 100 yards. - Well what if you want to shoot at 200, 300, or even 400 yards? you're pooched, I am thinking of reverting to the issue rear sights, what the Tech sight ppl should have provided is a rear sight like the M16a2 has with repeatable settings for 100, 300, 400, 500 yards etc, the tech sight is only really good if you are going to do some close in hunting or keep the range short if you are punching paper.

I have a way better one if you want fat tony

Its true that you really cannot adjust range settings on the fly. The elevation dial really requires use of a punch or something similar to rotate.

However, you must keep in mind what the sks can do. The sks is simply not a 500+ meter rifle. I think that 400m is really stretching it. Within 350m the rifle is damn good.

With a proper zero, you can hit right on sub 30 meters, hold under at 100, right on at 200, and hold just over at 300+. You can take the sks all the way out to its max effective range without having to touch the elevation dial.

Its hard for me to comment on the accuracy of the stock sights vs. the tech sights, but in combination with their finer front post, hitting my round 15 inch steel plate is no problem out to 300m

Aren't you supposed to use a 7.62x39mm cartridge to adjust the sight?

yes, technically the WINDAGE supposedly can be adjusted with the nose of a round, however you will notice the thread was about not being able to easily adjust the ELEVATION. Tech sights makes a tool to adjust the windage, it's the same as for an AR-15/M16.

I'm also having an elevation issue with the T100, and called the tech sight owner this morning. Gave me a few idea's, but it looks like I might have to swap out the 100 for the T200. The elevation dial needs the tool, which is not included, to easily adjust. He mentioned if you make an adjustment, and the Aperture moves (common when new) move the Aperture back to zero before the next turn of the elevation dial. This prevents the inside threads from stripping.
There is no plastic anywhere in the sight. Injection mold metals, aluminum and steel.

TS200 peep adjustment tool.

Its the ak version of the ts200. It is also a recently released tool, wasn't available when i bought my ts200

Thanks for the posts following my last.

The SKS TS200 sight is exactly like this as is the tool shown.

BTW, I bought some Blue Loctite today for the allen screw going in to push against the X screw. My allen screw dropped out after some 60 rounds last Monday.

I lost mine, backed right out under the force of recoil. I don't think you really need it anyway.

Lyman rear sight on an SKS?

i didn't like the tech sights on my sks, just to flimsy for a battle rifle, might try this one if i could find one

The only Lyman that I know off for an SKS is a peep that replaces the standard rear signt. You would gain nothing because of the distance from the peep to your eye. In fact, IMHO, it would be worse.

If you go for one, please give us a report.
