Hello, I would like some tips on how to install the fab defense foregrip on a CZ858. Any website for info? thanks

I have a set coming and I'm thinking that it will take like one minute to change.

If you have not yet taken your CZ apart then
A: Pull the pin (located at the top of the sight ladder) and lift to remove top cover.

B: Take a punch and remove pin located at rear of lower handgaurd and below the charging handle when closed. Pull down and VOLIA!

Replace set of HG's. I'm not sure if you will need to use the end cap on the Fab set.

I just received my Fab Defense accessories!

1) Anyone know what kind of bolt is needed for the main pistol grip?

2) For those that have installed the sweet Galil folding stock, is it just me or is it impossible to open this thing if its not yet attached to the rifle? I don't have my rifle just yet but was trying to figure it out. How do you install this thing? It just screws on? Like you screw the whole stock on? Or do you have to get it open somehow then take the screw out? Thanks for the info for this super-newb!

Hey Chev I found an email from Rauch Tactical where I ordered my Fab items (great service Sean, thanks!)

"You need to source a 25mm long M6 as the FAB unit doesn't have it included.
They are pretty standard and CT has them."

I'm thinking 'CT' is Canadian Tire? Hopefully he can chime in soon...

Thanks alot for the help, Mambo. I just got the same e-mail from Rauch. The build will have to be completed tomorrow. Thanks again.

Yep, CT is Canadian Tire.

Anyone know how to install the Galil folding stock? You have to have it in the folded position to access the main screw right? I can't seem to open/fold the darn thing...what am I missing?

Yes the 25mm M6 is available from Canadian Tire. :D

The FAB Galil folder locks up pretty solid, one of its better points.

You need to press down on the stock side of the hinge (push hard) and then twist open the hinge. It'll go. Once open you can access the bolt and install. I recomend you put a bit of locktite on the thread adapter and the new bolt.

Hope this helps guys.

Got the Galil folder open! Awesome! Yes it was a paint to figure out how much force to use but seeing how tight it locks up now is very impressive! High quality component indeed.

Will definitely use loctite then.

Thanks for the tip, Mr. Rauch!

Ok, Maybe I spoke to soon. The lower HG was EAP top put on but how the he** do you get the resin wood off the upper part?

The upper wood rotates off. You may need to bend at least one retaining tab back to get it off then just rotate on the FAB unit.

Cheers,

Sean

Which way does the pin for the lower handguard come out? Basically what side should I hammer on with punch? Jeez that upper handguard was a pain to figure out!

It does not matter which side, have at her.

How the heck do u get the lower handguard on easily?! So frustrating it doesn't just slip on? Do you have to work the front first?

Slide the front into the matching slot than give it a good push in, then push back end in.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I got a bad habit of posting before exhausting all efforts! Haha my bad...actually I was being a bit chicken in really man-handling the bottom piece and using some force. Got her in just like you said, thanks!

Gettin' there! Got the muzzel break and FINALLY the handguard on...phew!

Just gotta get the Galil stock, pistol grip and fore-end grip on next! Darn still have to buy ammo...haha! Thanks all for the help!!!

About the M6 screws... all the CT and hardware stores in my area (Quebec City) dropped their metric inventory. Had to go to a machine parts shop which was luckily nearby.
