quick question, how much is a ww2 era mp40 parts mathing full auto worth? Obvious handling marks, but has not been fired since the end of the war
 
Depends on whether or not you can legally own it. To someone who can't its worthless.

The problem with FA guns in Canada is the market is very small.
 
Depending on condition of course.... $3000 to $4000. In Canada.
The Mp-40's in US are selling for $12 to $18k. I think even the few that were dewatted are going for $2k

The Mp38 is going for about 25% more
 
cool, guy just submitted it to the police station to get destroyed, begged him not to, but he refused. the charging handle for this thing was on the left side, is that common?

That's the only side they were on. Russian guns (SVT, PPSH) had the cocking handle on the right side, German guns for some reason always had them on the left side!

Too bad it was turned in to be destroyed. Should have been dewatted.
 
MP40 value

I think you may find "La cowboy" maybe a bit short...I have see at least 4 very nice deactivated old school, "#### & click", that sold for around the $3.000.00 - $3.500.00 mark, here in the Vancouver area. Even those Made in Japan, MGC68 MP40's sell on ebay for well over a Grand, if there in top condition. I have one of those..got it for my 16th Birthday..many,many moons ago!! Now our laws make the thing illegal to sell or even pass it on to a family member or friend. If our Gov't thinks i'm going to turn it in for destruction...Nuts to them!!..i'm not about to throw away $1.500.00+!!!

STUPID LAWS!!! Made by STUPID Politicians!!

The cocking handle is on the left so the strong hand is on the pistol grip ready to go ASAP without juggling....................Harold

History lost forever becuase of stupidity. Couldn't he have at least dewated it or donated it to a museum? Bubbaing and honest people turned into crimanals by backwards, fear based laws are destorying more history than rust and the elements ever will.

As anyone who takes Call of Duty World at War seriously will tell you, the MP-40 is the most devastating weapon ever invented and even the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki fail to compare.

Its best that these weapons of mass destruction are obliterated from the face of the earth otherwise one person with one gun could wipe out an entire race, or even nation.

Although I agree with the point of your statement, one could argue that statistically more people were killed by the MP-40 than the atomic bomb. Of course there are no hard stats on that, but you can imagine.
