how many of us are waiting???

got her this morning...hummm what a beauty!! cant wait to get her to the range!!! not impress by the mags but what a cute rifle!

I bought 2 today.

As of now I am waiting for 2 AR15's at once. I can imagine how heads will be rolling at the CFO. "OH SH#T! TWO OF THEM! THIS GUY IS DANGEROUS! QUICK PUT HIS FILE UNDER THE PILE!"

Today is September 30 2009.

Now we play the waiting game.

6 Months for an AR... Not thrue. If this is the first restricted semi auto you buy, yes; 7 months for my Sturmgewehr (BD-44 actually). Then the M1 carbine and the AR-15 and the Vz-58 came with normal delay, one or two weeks. You need to call them (Parthenais). Recently, they mentioned they were processing hunting rifles (non-restricted!) in priority over pistols. Still, the pistol was processed a few day later. I guess it's the price to pay for living in "La belle province", unless the time is required to ensure you are not a member of the "Milice Patriotique du Québec".

i've bought the rifle on august 12, they start the transfer on august 16 and receive her this morning...was my first restricted rifle but i already got some pistol. so a month or so with weekly call from me, just to be sure they dont forget me...hey gefreiter, you get yourself a quite nice rifle for your first!!! youre sure your not in that milice?!? ;)

Geez... I feel sorry for you Quebecers.

I thought Bantario was bad about other stuff.

Does calling them actually speed things up? Won't they just assume you're in a hurry to use them illegally? :)

Now I want to go gopher shooting or the equivalent with my SKS. But no idea where in Ontario.

My AR Xfer from Epps took about 2 weeks. Pistol I bought there right after the AR took less than a week. Private sale last month of a CX4 storm took... well.. Almost 6 weeks. Wierd. Maybe the CX4 is more evil than the AR?

Glad I don't live in Quebec.

Just tell them you're angry NOW, damn it. ;)

and so many restrictions that its almost not worth it to have a gun...
Isn't that the point of all these laws?

I call twice a day and try to speak with the same person. I drive the lady apes**t and my transfers are usually done within the same week. :)

LOL! What if they tell you check back in a few weeks and you call back the next day? That would drive them nuts. I thought it would be counter productive to piss them off. Oh well... What do I know, I haven't called them yet.

... they do tell me to call back in a week, in fact they tell me the reason why it takes so long. I just say yup! I'll call back right after dinner thank you ma'am!:)

2 weeks from Epps? They submitted my M4 transfer on a Monday and I think CFO faxed back the papers the next day. By Wednesday, Epps called me that it's ready to pick up. Had to wait until the weekend to do the 1.5 hrs drive. LOL! I've been lucky so far.

A few years ago I was subject to a random "audit" by Revenue Canada. About the same time I had purchased a Ruger Blackhawk in .44 Mag from a friend of mine. A month later I bought a Ruger Frontier in 7mm-08. The registrations for both arrived about two and a half months later in the same envelope. I'm starting to wonder if it's not a question of wether or not you are paranoid, but if you're paranoid enough. :ninja:

Happy ending for me. They didn't find anything because there was nothing to find. :owned:

Since when did talking loud to a police officer, let alone a lady, get you anything but more trouble ?

Yes expediting them at Parthenais helps, statistically. But the Miramichi lady is even more cooperative. They will spent the time you need to go down the list and fix every pending issue for your ongoing transfer requests that are stalled. I find it's usually the sellers who haven't done their homework. I give them all the info (PAL#, address, date/city of birth, club name, etc) but they fail to forward the information. So I systematically follow-up two days later.

This being said, some sellers have direct access to a different phone # with much higher priority. Zefarm has processed all my applications and gotten the transfer notification for restricted, usually the same week.

Who's this Artiz guy? I thought writing defamatory or hateful things was not tolerated on this forum.

My cheree, my pussycat, you, ron, ron, ron...

I'm right here sweet heart. Want your dinner right now?

Or you have something wrong with me saying you're awesome... then that's pretty messed up...

Defamatory, Hateful, don't tell me you're gonna cry.
When a province is messed up real good like ours, it deserves kind words to describe it, and the ones used are far from defamatory, seriously.

well i have a good one im in montreal and well the other day i sold my buddy his first hand gun,a norinco police model.45 ,that was 2 weeks ago so today i get a letter in the mail saying my transfer was approved but when i looked at what they transfered it was my nork m4 .so instead of transfering the nork .45 they transfered the m4 .long story short they f*cked up and it took him 2 weeks to get the approval and i had to wait 3 monthes to get approved when i forst got it funny how things work.
