Indoor ranges east of Toronto?

Hi everyone. Joined here awhile ago but am finally getting around to taking the course in November. I can't seem to find an indoor range in the Whitby, Ajax, Oshawa area. Can anyone recommend one? I'd like to go shooting in the winter too :)

Thanks!

Oshawa has The Marksman Club do they not?

IMHO, winter outdoor shooting is invaluable though so don't dismiss it too quickly. Rain or shine, a gunning good time.

Marksmans Club in Oshawa, Ajax Rod & Gun in Ajax. Both indoor.

Do you belong to either of these clubs and are recommending them or are you just pointing out that they exist?
Any details? ie times, range use, RO policy? organized shoots? Cost/fees?
Thanks in advance

The Marksmen Club just east of Oshawa is a 24/7 carded access. Has a 25m indoor pistol range with 10 shooting bays with auto retrieval system. Can also shoot pistol caliber rifle and .22 rifle. IDPA, IPSC and PPC are very active there.

Indoor? A-OK! in Toronto!

There are all sorts of indoor shooting areas in Toronto. They are called bars and nightclubs. Then again, if you are a mature, responsible person with all of the permits and training, you are S.O.L. Keep your powder dry.:runaway::runaway:

Thanks guys, I'll check those two out. Someone above said you can go winter shooting? I was under the impression that all the outdoor ranges closed for the winter. Are there some that stay open?

Sharon is beautifull all year. Not an indoor range but most of the shooting areas are covered ala pole barn style.

ya well, don't join then. Your kid only worth a grand? lol ya,your prolly right! LOL

Costs me 20$ in fuel to get there and back. I try to go once a wk.. 5 wks =100$, 50 wks = 1,000$!! Plus ammo! Plus targets! Plus staples! Plus coffee and doughnuts! OMG! I should sell my stuff and just stay home!!

I am a member at the Marksmans Club. Very good and genial range. As Steve David said excellent IDPA, PPC and IPSC leagues. The Club website carries membership fees details.

Thanks tenexx and Steve David. I'll check it out.
I think the growed-ups here know, there is no free ride. You usually get what you pay for. The share, that must be bought to be a full member of Sharon Gun Club, is simply a share and as such can also be sold. I belong to TRC also and find it to be of terrific value. Lucky for me, I can afford to support more than one club, just as I support CSSA, NFA and used to support OFAH. Without our time, money and political support, I think the growed-ups here also realize, our sport/hobby would very quickly disappear.

My dad and I went there on a Sat. morning about a month ago, and were told that if we wanted to join, we would have to find someone willing to sell us each a share in the club, and they were currently going for about $1500 each:runaway:. That would give us the right to join and pay the yearly membership dues of about $350.
I'm sure it's a nice club but give me a f***ing break..........$1850 to join:confused:

I never understood that $1000 for a share thing, but it does make joining a lot of money there.

Given the current political climate, there is very little hope of new ranges being opened in southern On. on the scale of Sharon. I'm not sure where the next closest range with the same features would be.
$300 and change for a yearly membership is not exorbident for any club in southern On. especially one that has multiple ranges including 300m. centre fire rifle.
The share is a SHARE. You buy at the currant rate, if and when you want to leave you sell at the then currant rate. Your not likely to loose $, as I stated, they're not building any new clubs around here.
I hear there is a fairly long waiting list to obtain a share.

.

I think that would be EESA..........

But........we have an indoor range as well.

Our price is $160 per year.

$160? That's a steal.

Softtail,
The point is, for a couple hundred bucks, join a club, any club. Support the sport or get on to something else.
Stop whining about the cost.
Take up golf and see how much that costs. And yes, there will be golf clubs you cannot afford either. To bad, so sad.
Stop whining. (and stop bad mouthing my club)
