Just found out a few minutes ago that Cooper will now take orders for its newest action. Its called the M54 and its the long awaited short action repeater. Its available in 22/250, 243, 7/08, 308, 260 Rem, 338 fed. Its in the classic, custom classic, and western classic. Pricing will be the same as for M52's. :)

i'm going to buy a Cooper soon (just a heads up SakoAlberta) but something that bugs me about manufacturers (Remington and Cooper at least) is that they call their action based on 308 size cartridges "short"
if they really wanted to turn my crank they would make an action based on 223 length cartidges SHORT
308= medium
30.06=long

and what the heck 338 Lapua/RUM= extra long

I am just relieved that you didn't announce that they had a stainless 52 action ready to go,I have already bought two Coopers from you this year,and my budget is shot for this year.:D

LOL, funny thing is, that might be next!!

As far as the length of actions go, i agree, the 308 is not really short but do keep in mind that cooper makes at least three actions short than the new M54.

I just had a brainwave and now can begin scheming, and my philosophical side is really helping me out.

A .308 is a short action, a .30-06 a standard, and .375 H&H et al. a magnum/large. Super short actions, are the .223 sized, as in the CZ 527.
