whats your prediction on the price of used sks's

You boys are dreaming. There is no way in hell that the Marstar rifles will retail for less than $225. You fellows were spoiled to the extreme with this last batch of Russian refurbs. They were mostly, if not all in excellent condition. These rifles coming in are a mixture of well used to VG and maybe a few excellent specimens. That's Johnone's description, not mine. I doubt that even the lesser grades will be under $200 retail. Of course, I will be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong but we were lucky last time. From what I understand we got the pick of the litter here in Canada.
 
exactly, no way they would sell them for any less than $200. it would be pointless, they know that they will sell every single one for $200 or more, so why bother selling them for $100?
 
The speculation has already been discussed at around the $100.00-$120.00 mark for the lower grade ones, and more for the brand new ones. The rifles coming in are from various arsenals, and some of them will be worse for wear and some will be excellent. Who cares though! Perfect opportunities to resurrect more SKS's from the dead.

Remember that Marstar sold Chinese SKS's for $139.99. The only reason the market is testing $200.00-$260.00 for an SKS right now is because there are not $139.99 rifles to be bought. That will change when these new ones come in.

I predict that the price will be based on how much crap Marstar has to go through to get them through all the red tape and how much the market is willing to pay. Surplus ammo will play a part as well.
 
When Marstar's shipment turns from vaporware into reality, the price will fall at least slightly, for the simple reason that more SKS are available, unless this actually creates new interest in SKS and drive up demand, which is unlikely.

Another issue will be ammo, another thing John has already mentioned. A shortage of 7.62X39 ammo in corrosive surplus may become an issue in the next 6-12 months. Think there will be one case for every SKS coming in?

Right now Wolverine is selling 1120ct cases for $160.00 per case. Time to stock up.

I was thinking the same thing. I certainly hope there is some left when I get back to Canada, or that certain dealers don't jack up the price as soon as the newly arrived SKS's start to sell... :rolleyes:
 
Remember Allen Lever? He went from selling chinese mint SKS's for 99.95 to 49.95! So it can and does happen.
 
Maybe TGC needs to put out a poll...

As for the SKS I expect the used ones will go for 149-169 on the lower end crappy ones 169-199 for the average ones and 199-219 for the really good ones...

and the factory unissued ones probably 259-279...

The free ammo will be $225 a case for delivery...
