Who's Muzzleloader Hunting in Ontario?

Zeroed my new omega today. Waiting for saturday morning in 65 for this working stiff. Can't wait. First time smoke stick hunt for me. Good luck all.

I'm hoping to get out this thirsday and friday with my CVA Optima... And my cousin is going to join me with his new Thompson Omega...

What rifles are you guys sporting? WHat loads are you useing?

I was out on Monday and hope to get out a few more times this week.

We aren't seeing any deer sign at all. 3 of us were out yesterday each hunting a few KMs apart. There was a couple of inches of snow on the ground. Not one of us could find any tracks near where we were hunting.

We have seen the deer on camera at night but for some reason they are no where to be found during the day.

I have a TC Prohunter and a TC Triumph 2 t7 pellets and 250 grain SST for both.

muzzle loader hunt Ottawa area

Greetings,
Hunting in 64B for the week. Been out all day Monday and Tuesday with little to no fresh sign. Mind you we had snow, rain and high winds the first day. Today was warmer and less windy but still quiet in regards to deer sightings. In for the full week so optimistic things will improve yet. No shortage of coyotes LOL!
Good Hunting to All

Zone 80, 2 days now,not a sign, there is still so much standing growth on my property I'm having problems finding a good spot to set up. The usual spots are not any good this year. I wish we would get a good dumping of snow to knock all the undergrowth down...

Took a doe tonight. Christened both new TC's this season now and have killed with the bow, gun and ML now this year. Still have a few more tags, but getting picky now or might take the crossbow out.

I decided to hunt a tight bottleneck with the crossbow tonight and what happens?......3 deer walk out in the next field over 125yds away and hung up at 100yds when they couldn't see the deer making all the noise (me calling)...then made their way back into the bush.......boy was I mad!...using some gift certificates I have to buy a decoy tomorrow.....lol.....and no more bow when ML is open!....

were heading out tomorrow for a few days,i,ll call it a good hunt just spending some time with a few good friends...

now were the #### that deer hiding ???

Well, I haven't seen a thing yet! I hunted Mon, Tues, Wed and tonight.....no deer, no yotes, no turkeys, no squirrels, its like the A bomb went off in the woods :(. We even had our first snowfall tuesday morning. I have to work tommorow but I'll be out Sunday.

I've been out everyday now this week, nothing, not a deer anywhere, talked with some other hunters tonight just north of belwood and they are saying the same thing.

Saw 4 deer tonight but due to school I left the muzzle loader at home in favor of the bow. 3 doe's and a nice big body 6point hung up at about 80yds brought them in from 160yds with some grunts and my new decoy....The buck grunted and stomped its foot and I replied with a grunt-snort-wheeze which made the young buck turn tail and run away......The doe's kept coming in but hung up at about 60yds which is out of my comfort zone with the bow.....I watched them for a bit as they made their way to the next field.....overall a good night

My muzzle loader is coming with me all weekend!

I got a 9 point this morning with my CVA hunterbolt in .45, 60 yards out.

He was crashing and thrashing through the woods when he was walking towards me and didn't seem to care about being quite. It looks the like rut is on full this week, he really smelled like pine and I could see his handy work on the pine trees all around.

This is the first non-typical I have seen in the the area (62) let only shot.

The date on my camera was wrong.
