1911's... Which one?

That's a lot like asking if blondes, brunettes or redheads are better.

Are you looking for good value, or ultimate quality regardless of price? What price range? Use? Custom features? Lots of questions to answer to narrow it down some.

BTW, I prefer redheads myself.:D

I'd say take a look at STI Spartan, Freedom Ventures has them and extra 8rd mags are $15 (made in Italy and look like Mec-Gars in and out). Armco has them too.
It's the best brand name 1911 in .45acp you can get. Freedom V. is your support guy too.

I want something high quality, its going to be a range gun so it will see lots of rounds. I'd rather spend the extra cash and do it right the first time.

im a brunette guy myslef lol

Spartan IS a high quality gun that'll outlive you if you don't ruin it due to neglect or an accident, but that can be said about any gun. And those $15 mags ARE high quality mags too.

PM7 is a wonderful gun but will be almost twice the price of STI Spartan. If you can spoil yourself with one - go for it. :D

It all depends on the features you want, fixed sights/adjustable sights. Ambi safety/single safety. 9mm/40S&W/10mm/45acp. Blued/stainless. Government/Commander length. Big things is service or warranty works should you need it. I think most will agree that when you take all of these factors into consideration, STI is your best bet for a new 1911 in Canada and the Trojan in particular is the lead model. With Freedom Ventures, you will have no worries about getting the gun the way you want it and the service if you need it. Sean is a first rate dealer and man of his word and sells a first rate product. I would give him a call and talk to him, let him know what you are looking for and he will set you up with the perfect 1911.

Good choice but.........................probably a little pricey for first 1911

he did say something of high quality, it's as though I was reading his mind....LOL

but then again he did not specify his price range

by the way the TRP was my first 1911, the minute I saw it, I knew I wanted it
