Hey Folks,

I have made a few deals here in the short time I've been here, and noticed that pretty much everyone prefers EMT payments....just wondering why??

My bank doesn't deal with EMT...they offer another similar payment method called "hyperwallet"....I have my own Internet business and 99% of my customers use (FRAUD ALERT) to pay me...so it's what I prefer to pay others with....fast, easy, safe....and I am always willing to cover the fee to the seller....

So far this is the first forum sales environment I've seen that no-one will accept (FRAUD ALERT)...surely I'm not the only one who's bank doesn't offer EMT service!?!? So far I have been able to make other arrangements with the sellers I have dealt with, but it sure is a lot more hassle, and takes a lot longer for sellers to get their money...

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions from others out there with the same issues?

(FRAUD ALERT) is vocally anti-gun.

People don't use it because they do not support its policies. In short, we vote with our money. Any time that becomes inconvenient for me to find an alternate solution, I just recall what we are really fighting for and look for a vendor where my kind is welcome.

(FRAUD ALERT)? I can live without it.

I understand Gunpal has no such reservations and is doing well for our purposes. I think their CEO is a well known Calguns member.

(FRAUD ALERT) does not allow firearms to be sold.

fair enough....I get the policy issues....guess I'm just frustrated that my bank is not one of the 16 institutions that handle EMT...

Not going to go back to any of those "big banks" just so I can send EMT....Postal MO's will hopefully get me all the new toys I can afford ;)

EMT is fast, secure, free. Basically as soon as you choose to deposit it - it's there, no waiting. Cheques have to be cleared, MO costs money. EMT is def the winner here.
I personally shipped a few times 30 mins after money came, that's packing and dropping it off at local PO.

EMT is king

(FRAUD ALERT) can be disputed even after a successful honest sale. Leaving the word of a scammer buyer to trump the word of the honest seller.

(FRAUD ALERT) is the worst payment method known to man.

(FRAUD ALERT) wont even LOOK at a claim more than 30 days old, and really most people would give the benefit of the doubt up to and including 30 days.

(FRAUD ALERT) blows.

I still accept cheques in my business...From a known recognized Canadian financial institution and product is not shipped out until the check clears.
It sometimes delays shipping for 10 days to my clients, but it is their choice to use EMT or check.

I'm an hour drive from the closest money order and they cost me $6.50 so are a pita and costly
I opened an account at a chartered bank just to have EMT...hyperwallet doesn't cut it...and (FRAUD ALERT) is when you have no other choice, for ALL the reasons mentioned.
open a basic account at a chartered bank and use it for EMT only ;)

You can always use Canada Post COD.

They buyer pays when they pick up the item from the post office, usually debit.

You get your money shortely thereafter.

Works great, inexpensive, and matches delivery with payment - the cause of most disputes when using EE.

EMT is the most convienent. Hyperwallet does work but has taken a couple of days for deposits to get to my account in my dealings with them. (FRAUD ALERT) is fine with me,I sell on eBay too. But you have to make sure and not leave a firearm relate message to the seller. Money orders are ok,but slow. I've also had a few buyers not mail them when promised. A day or two delay is fine. But not a week or two. Some like to do direct deposits too. Both these and EMT mean instant cash, and quicker turn around. As for Checks,I do not accept them.
