narrow pistols

What are some of the slimmer guns, like the sr9 and steyr m9. Something thats better for a smaller hand

Browning hi-power have a slim grip which is very good for small hand, I found the SR-9 to be the best. I have extra small adult hand but I learnt to deal with, so far I can handle my CZ, G17 and 686 without problems. Try shoot a SR-9 to see if you like it.

Ditto on my own 213's. I just haven't gotten around to makeing up new grips yet.

Something to consider is that it isn't just the grip size. The reach from the area under the backstrap hook to the trigger is going to be a key factor in how well any gun feels in your hand. The fingers can tolerate a little more or a little less wrap around but if you have to reach for the trigger or if your finger is at an odd angle such that it tends to pull the gun sideways when it fires then you won't be having a good time.

This would be doubly bad with the long double action pull that is typical of many double/single guns if you need to use the double action pull such as in IPSC Production class and similar classes in IDPA.

I've shot some big gripped as well as the Tokarev slim grips on the 213. Other than the extremely small and slippery grips of the stock 213 I don't have any trouble but some of them require me to stick my finger through the guard further where the backstrap hook (the spot where the web of your strong hand goes) to trigger is quite short.

So it may not be a slim grip you need as much as a shorter reach to the trigger.

Mind you if this steers you towards a single stack 1911 in the caliber of your choice then that's hardly a bad thing other than for your bank account.... :D If you still don't like the reach the 1911 uses common parts for all the brands and a short reach trigger is an easy mod to do to get the gun to fit your reach better.

I really agree with this. With my puny little mits, this is def the case for me. Comparing my Shadow to my Hi-Power, the grip width isn't tremendously different for me, but I can really feel the fit for the trigger reach. It is much shorter and allows me to more properly hold the thing without rotating my hand out of forearm alignment so I can properly place my trigger finger pad.

You should try holding a CZ 75 Duty 07.

Very small, but manageable grip, compact overall, polymer frame, ambi saftey.

Some excellent features boasted by this pistol all for $650!.

I am finding a hard time trying to justify NOT owning one...

That looks nice but the CZ USA site says it only has a 3.7 inch barrel length. Or I wonder if they measure it from the front of the chamber instead of the Canadian method of from the rear of the chamber. You saw this for sale here in Canada?
