Trophy room redo

Great looking trophy room. are you a member of Safari Club International? We have several chapters in Alberta PM me for more info

To come clean as far as what I do for work, I am an Electrician by trade. I work for one of the larger Electrical contractors in Grande Prairie doing oil and gas field maintenance and construction. I run my own truck to make this career more lucrative, and I work hard to learn the trade more in depth to ensure my job security.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t get rich beyond my wildest dreams doing this (especially in this economy) but its all about being smart with your money. I forego things like blowing $200-300 bucks at the bar on a weekend, reckless spending on random crap, and eating at home most times versus going out to a restaurant. When I was younger and first into the working life I partied and spent recklessly. After I while I said, WTF do I have to show for this? A few hangovers, a sweet X-BOX, and an uncanny ability to throw loonies at women who wouldn’t take a second look at me.

It’s the small things that add up. Being smart with my money is really the only thing that funds these hunts, invest and make your money work for you. Plan ahead and put even a little into what I call my “Global Expeditions Account”. Get a US dollar account (its free) and watch the dollar at its high points…. Buy then not when it’s low. Everyone has an opinion on what to do with their money, this is what I choose to do after all the bills are paid and my savings get fed.

I just turned 27 this November, so I’m still young. I’m doing these things while it is easier to. The kids are going to be on their way in the next couple years, then its school supplies and college tuition. Throw in a wedding and who knows what else, and these hunts might be just a little more difficult. Live your dreams ASAP since you don’t know what tomorrow will bring.

Yes I am a member of SCI. Everyone who reads this post must like hunting. SCI and other organizations like it are an immense help to ensuring hunting stays the way it is or gets better for our children. Take a look at SCI, spend the $70 bucks a year on a membership, you even get a great magazine out of it.

Smart cookie there Tim, good for you! I have two cousin's in the same trade up there and both have been doing quite well during the slow down still.

Nice to hear your getting this done before the kids show up. I wouldn't trade mine for anything but I sure wish I had done more before they showed up. Procrastination is one's worst enemy.

Some of the best advice I've read on this forum.

Nice trophy room congrats!

I figured I would put this in here anyway....since "the spank" asked where the ducks and geese were. The geese ( speckle Belly, Snow, and Blue ) went through a hell of a time. First of all they got shot by me.... then stuffed...and then had their faces mauled off by the black lab in the second pic. Its sure a good thing I have a heart otherwise there would be a stuffed Black Lab in the basemet somewhere.

Aside from the fact that you suck, thanks for living ALL our dreams. Outstanding!
Please enlighten us on the structure of the little room you have so tastefully decorated. Particularly ceiling height.
