Good luck.

As we all know from the green peace types, polar bears are just big snuggly friendly animals.

I can therefore only assume he's trying to give him a big warm hug.

The guy must be worried about cooties.

I would be pissed at the guy laughing and taking pics in the truck while you do the chinese fire drill with the bear.

Who locks there truck out there?

I actually leave my truck running if I'm only gone for 30-45 minutes up there...

How can you leave us hanging?? What happened next??

Near Barrow, Alaska. This town is about 300 miles north of the arctic circle.
The foot race around his own vehicle, left him no time to find his keys and unlock his automobile.
I while back IIRC, the guy survived thanks to an unlocked cab of a nearby truck.
However, it was said he needed medical attention. One hundred stitches or so! Guess these pics don't tell the whole story.

I've never seen a polar bear, but that one looks kind of small?

Not sure how true it is, but TV/internet usually says it's the smaller bears that attack. Tt's rare for a large bear to attack a human, the brain of the bear is the last thing to grow and mature, and a big bear is very very intelligent. If you type into youtube something along the lines of polarbear and dog you'll get video of a wild bear up north somewhere in a camp playing with huskys. The guy on the video says something along the lines of it's normal for people to let big bears into towns because they aren't a danger, and the big bears keep the small bears at bay.

Again, no personal experience, just what i've seen on tv/internet.

Best defence is a good offence. I would have gone after the bear. Couple jabs and a hook, then spin it into a rear necked choke hold until it tapped out or went to sleep.

Silly bears...pfffffttt

I was thinking the same thing :p

I would love to hear the rest of the story...
