So as per my prior question - is it rock solid? i had two of the first production model, and both Mepro's jiggled horribly. Zero constantly shifted. i have long since sold them, but i really like the rifle. if the new Mepros are rock solid, then i am interested again.

Are new Mepro's rock solid?

Using my index finger, pushing down... force needed to insert cartridge into magwell...

no movement on front right
<1mm play on the rear right
<0.5mm on the rear left
no movement on the front left

right thumb on front right, left index on rear left... force needed to close saddle soap lid...

< or = .75mm CCW rotation

zero clockwise movement

Looking into the sight, right hand on the sight, force needed to open or close glass jar screw top...

< 0.75mm CCW
< 0.5 clockwise

Reflex Sight did not fail to return to initial starting position at any time after force was applied.

The weapon has not yet been fired, only heavily handled and cycled with practice ammo to prove up the extractor mechanism...

I agree that they are doing a lot of work to get this done. And I appreciate the amount of red tape they have to cope with. I am happy and grateful that they are willing to go through it (but let's not get melodramatic here, they do get a fair amount of $$ from it too).

But, I hope they will look at this in the future and pick up on lessons learned. I ordered mine in July 08. Since then I have heard/read so many broken promises that I do not expect anything anymore.

Like "you pay in November, we ship in December". If I was told that it would be in February I would have been ok with it. But they said December. They have to do much better at managing expectations and delivering on these promises.

And an overall status message on their web site (or media of their choosing) would be nice. The vast majority of complaints I see could easily be taken care of with better communications and managing expectations.


Unrelated: I would also like to know what happened with the new Tavor bigWhisky posted. That looks like something is broken to me :confused:

I will say it again, I love this gun!!!
A little heavy in the ass, likely more "cushion for the pushin'"

There is (are) no problems with my firearm, only the poor halogen lighting at 0200z this morning... Here are some pics with that billion candlepower ball of flame in the sky helping out...

and the plug... helpful, courteous, customer service, all questions answered promptly. Firearm beautifully and discretely packed, the shipping was very quick and FREE...
Even got a 100.oo in store credit for EMT payment, It will help buy two more IWI mags or some LAR-15's.

Firearm is here and usable in Canada, 300 million people to the south may have to wait another full two years for their chance...

I was also glad to see from your pictures you are giving the baby the white glove treatment. I might polish the finish right off mine when i get it.....

So...I hope after all this waiting your not throwing in the towel now? That's too bad, Its been kind of like those groups of people who stand outside FutureShop #####ing about how they don't open on time, and now your leaving the group ?? :redface:
 
Well I phoned canam to buy another tavor and mine should be here in 2 weeks. Now that I have a time frame Im not as wound up waiting.

I am totally confused. Are there pre-orders that are not getting theirs? Is there a list? I prepaid before Nov. 30 and haven't heard anything. Anyone?
