What is your all time favourite pistol/revolver?

Right you are, none other. A shooting buddy and I went and spent a day visiting him in Salmon Idaho in the mid 1970's. Before we left I took a picture of him standing beside my truck & camper. A memorable day to say the least.

John, you are so fortunate to have met with one of the greatest handgunners of all time. Didn't he develop the .357 mag as well?

The other handgunner I would have loved to meet was the Colonel...Jeff Cooper.

These two icons have influenced me the most so my favorite handguns are my 686 and 1911.

Good for you!

I had completely forgotten that. It did 'ring' a bell so I got the 'bible', Sixguns by Keith, out and checked and you're quite correct. Apparently he did have a hand in the development of that cartridge as well. From page279,
"Next we have the 357 magnum Smith & Wesson cartridge. I worked with Doug Wesson on this development and sent him the first Keith bullets used in developing the load".

For handgun writers, Keith was my favorite but my 'second' favorite was Skeeter Skelton.

For me it's a Webley in .455 :)

This is a hard one, and I'm just a new guy! Only handgun I own is a Glock 22, I really like it. That said, if I had the money and opportunity I would love a Para-Ordnance 1911 Canadian Forces Edition:

I saw two in person at an IDPA match last year and it was simply gorgeous. I love 1911's in the first place but those were just way too cool. I will own a 1911, probably my next handgun purchase. I keep saying I'll buy one from Armco but I can't commit to it...

I owned and sell a lot. I like to try and test handguns. My favourite revolver was a PC 625-6.

Nothing too mystic about the semi, I own a S&W 1911 first batch in SS with the big lettering on it. This one is accurate and reliable, it go trough more than 30,000 round with no part broke and still ask for more

Another contender will be a Ruger BlackHawk with a 4 5/8 barrel in .45colt

I'm very partial to WWII vintage 1911A1's:

NAA.

Very nice!! I had the same leather holster but sold it at a gun show a few years back. The 1911 I had it for was one I purchased from Jerome Harrison in Naniamo who had quite a collection of them. Mine was parkerized and had a flat mainspring housing. Any idea as to what point in time that would've been made for?

I have to say, although its definitely not the prettiest handgun, I respect the Glock the most out of all handguns. I love the style of the 1911, but if I had to have 1 handgun to do whatever I needed it to do, forever, it would be a glock. So I would have to say its my favorite. Pretty boring eh?

A. Whichever one I have with me at the moment. The one which I've chosen to carry and that I generally suggest to most people is the:

B. Glock Model 19.

C. On the other hand if anyone wants to lend or give me another to try and change my mind, please do!

On a related note, I'd like to find a revolver for concealed carry and general purposes. Suggestions?
