modern plastic has its place. i daresay this is an improvement on the ruger 10/22 thin aluminum receiver and saggy barrel mount, and definitely an improvement on the old pot metal .22s.
if it was made of steel it would both weigh and cost at least 2x as much.

in your grand-dads day you could get away with alot more than you can now! they have taken alot of the fun out of life. i've heard stories from back then and it's scary what a guy could get away with when dealing with town cops and such. it's a very different story today.

the sad part is that they probably could arrest anyone involved. it would be big news to get those guns off the "streets" too. swat team involved and everything.
