The title could have been, Pretty Pistols on a budget.

My spouse is looking into a .22 pistol. here's her logic;

1. .22 rimfire is cheap to shoot (she is super frugal)

2. She enjoys pistol far more than rifle.

She does have some rules of her own about a possible purchase:

1. It has to be pretty. She doesn't like the, "...plain, old, boring, black pistols...". She likes colors, but hates the bling-shiny stuff out there.

2. It can't be expensive. She is expecting something in the $300 - $600 range. She is very cheap and leans towards the lower price.

3. No revolvers. She said she finds them noisier, dirtier, and unattractive. EDIT: She changed her mind (She can...) She would take a decent .22 revolver in satin or chrome.

4. Can't be a woodsman or anything remotely resembling the awesome styling of the Ruger Mark III or the Browning Buckmark (she is obviously nuts).

So what to suggest? I have presented the idea of Beretta's Neo (color choice), but she thinks it looks like a retarded science fiction pistol.

I'm thinking about showing her pics of the Smith & Wesson Model 22A in Camo. Anything else out there?

Wow, sounds like she really knows what she doesn't want or like.
"Pretty" is pretty subjective and personal.....I think she should choose as she seems to have strong opinions.
Custom paint job might be her best option.

Ummmmmm.... a Walther P22 in OD Green?
Its not black, its not bling, might be pretty (depends on what you think is pretty).
Or and SP22 pistol.

This one is pretty ugly and pimpy but it's in her price range...:p

Maybe she can give it a cosmetic make over with gun paint?

Pretty, it's gotta be an Italian design.

It's also very reliable with all brands of ammo, accurate and good enough for the Israeli Mossad and Air Marshalls to stake their lives on.

Beretta 71. 17 oz empty.

But you have to be a 12(6).

The S&W 422 is a used pistol but it comes in a dark grey rather than blued. It may meet with her approval and they do show up often enough well in her price range.

I put up representative pictures; these are obviously not pics of the actual pistols for sale (in both cases the barrel lengths are wrong in the pics).

Good places to start, I think... I like the look of the stainless revolver, and since you said she'd go for something like that I thought I'd put it up. Perhaps the blued Single Six might appeal to her frugal side though?

Good luck to you both!

didn't someone on here post up a pic of a CZ75B in stainless / nickel, with wood grips? that looked VERY nice and clean. or would if such a combination existed.

oh, but it's not .22LR unless you re-chamber it. maybe the Kadet is available in similar combinations?
