February Purchases

Oh ye of little faith, you bought it for the sum of the price of its parts. You didn't give the guy anything for his effort.

My No 7 has no SN as well. Cant say I have seen them that cheap, none under 700.00, but there are deals.

!!!700!!!, er,,,,so 400 was a good deal then?

Hahaha! You stole it...nice grab!

BTW, have a careful look at the barrel indexing. Those scrubbed receiver Cno7's have a way of being a bit out of index. Meaning, the front sight is canted a bit.

I have a gunsmith not too far away who can turn the bbl for you if you need.

I also happen to have the correct swivel to replace the king screw.

Index is good if the way she shoots is anything to go by:). Took her out to the indoor range last night and ran 50 rounds thru her (only had 30 minutes ) groups well and right on point of aim.

As to bursting, yeah, I NEVER i mean never get good deals on stuff i want, this is a first and i'm thrilled.

Cantom, is the king screw the one where the target swivel should be? I would like to put her into proper condition, so i'd be interested.

I have several of the chests, but shipping costs a b*tch. You might be further ahead to pick up the local one for $110.
I built a CNo7 on a new 1953 receiver back in the late 1970s. Part of my regimental # is incorporated in the s/n - just to confound and perturb the purist collectors many yrs downstream(LOL).
In the absence of a .22 barrel I've been contemplating building a "frankenbranch" on another CNo7 receiver with a nice Savage No4 bbl in .303. The only challenge should be to size a properly fit bushing for the No4 rear sight axial pin on the rt side of the receiver.

i will see if i can get pictures up but i have purchased this month :

Webley & Scott Mark IV in .38 smith and wesson. Came with the holster as well.

m95 Budapest bubba special.

a caliper made by mauser in the 1920's. Still works and came with the wooden and lined box.

Picked up a Yugoslavian M59/66 still full of goop the other day, courtesy of a great CGN member. I think it has made an appearance in a recent Purchases thread already but I feel like showing it off as well.

Payback for beating me to that M1 Carbine in the BST. :p
There do seem to be a fair number of them kicking around these parts. I expect to see Russian and Chinese stuff around for a long time to come, not sure about Yugo stuff though. This is the first SKS I've actually handled but I'd say we went the right direction getting one of the best of the bunch.

I don't think my dad or I have met you but if you see us at one of the ranges then I think it can be arranged to let you pop off a few rounds! And I'll let you know if it's ever looking for a new home, but don't count on it. :D

And if we happen to find some 7.62x39mm blanks, well then..

...fun times will be had. :D

#### that rifle grenade looks more like an RPG attachment. Thats petty awsome though.Hope you get some blanks and can try er out.

It seems to be an M31 practice grenade (and not the real HEAT one :() for the M1 Garand and M14. Definitely a big sucker and I'm not sure that I'd want to try it with the SKS but in theory it should work.

Might just have to invest in one of those golf/tennis ball launchers if they can be brought in from the US, or cobble something else together. :D

I haven't been to any of the ranges before but plan on going to the new ones in morell & hunter river.
I'll be taking my norc out. Not near as pretty as that yugo(nor does it have a grenade launcher!), but it works so I can't complain.
