Has anyone made a Tactical 20ga for a project on a 870 Express? I would like to here from you. I'm unloading my 870 Express 6 shot gun as my son has a hard time with it do to weight.

My experience (not that much but enough to talk about...) tells me that everything depends on what kind of ammo you use. With the same 12 ga, you can go through very light recoil to big knock on the shoulder.

Ithaca M37 PROBLEMs Please help ........

sigh.....

Been feeding the M37 with dummy shells - going through the motions of "slam" firing it.

After my teardown barrel removal and re-oiling I played with it again but noticed that it was now its double feeding the dummy shells.

Arrrrrg.

Upon careful examination I had noticed the extraction forks are now going past its original point thus causing the shell stop lever to malfunction.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this annoying problem.

part of the reason is I want to have a tactical shotgun, but also will use it for turkey & chicken hunting. The 12ga. gun it to heavy for my kids to use & I don't feel like buying 2 guns. So if it's possible I would look at a 20ga. tactical but I'm finding that tactical parts for a 20ga. is hard to come by.

Recently purchased a Winchester mod. 1300 Defender Series in 20ga. c/w 18" barrel & synthetic stock. Had hoped to add pistol grip but have been unable to find one made to fit the narrower 20ga. receiver. Would appreciate if anyone knows of who manufactures pistol grip for this model.

Knoxx Spec-Ops stock does come in a 870/20ga model without the recoil system called the Spec-Ops NRS stock. I'm looking into Mesa to see if they make a 20ga stock. which would help.

Scattergun Tech does, or at least used to, make accesories for 20ga shotguns. Of course if you go with the factory Remington 6+1 20ga I can't see you needing much in the accesories unless you're a ninja.

if you get the 18.5" barreled 870 Express 20ga that comes with the mag extension, its a fixed cylinder bore.

if you pick up the 870 Express Compact Jr., its an 18.5" barrel thats threaded for chokes and vent ribbed.

like i said in the other 20ga thread, i wouldnt buy a specific 20ga stock again -- theyre a lot harder to find and selection is pretty limited. buy a cheap $15 sling plate adapter, grab some files or a dremel, and make yourself a 12>20ga stock adapter. its not difficult -- then you can mount any 12ga stock on your narrower 20ga receiver.

As you see the 12 Gauge Knoxx model fits my 20 Gauge Mossberg quite nicely.

So A 12 Gauge Rem Knoxx stock would probably fit the 20.
