Just ordered my Tavor today the waiting game begins

LOL I wish it was that easy. Lots of room on my new sled too... just need some snow?!? Know of any crown land around there that the local tactical team won't deploy to? ;-)

I've emailed Barrie Gun club a few times in the past couple of months but never got a response (maybe not that active in winter, also don't know how long their ranges are) so I drove by the other day coming back from Borden. It's rather close to houses and a trailer park (or should I say they are rather close to the range...) so I suspect it has some issues, or will have, with outdoor ranges.

Sharon appears to be the only real option in the area to shoot 300 meters without annoying anyone (feel free to PM me if there is something less publicly known in the area).

Cheers

Or ...you could shoot at one of the ranges on Borden? Look in the service rifle forum, there's guys who can hook you up. I dont know what Barries longest range is; but I know its not 300M.

Already emailed the Mons club (I've shot many times at Borden over the years while on duty but I don't think they'd appreciate me leaving the C7 at home and bringing the Tavor ;-). Maybe a Gun Camp?... Hmmm

Guess we should get this back on topic however (Tavor!)...

I've been searching for accessories and only found the following so far:

Picatinny Scope Rail
https://www.dlaskarms.com//product_info.php?products_id=76&osCsid=16c1a7cb0422913839d0951eb88f3648

Foregrip Underail

Anyone found anything else yet?

Cheers

P.S. I understand they make a 9mm conversion kit, looks like a magwell insert in the few pics I've seen so maybe there is another toy to import.

Ok well shockingly enough, Canada Post delivered my Tavor today! Very nice (lots of pics coming).

Some good news:

1. The handguard has the screw holes for the under rail grip built in. So it should bolt right up (once it arrives from Israel).

2. It also has the center hole for the Harris Bipod already built in. Just need to install the stud etc (pics are missing from the FAQ now).

3. The side switch for the MARS or other laser/light device is present (just filled with a hollow plastic cover). So we can see about obtaining the proper switch and retrofitting lights/lasers/garage door openers.

Some bad news:

1. The safety switch actuator rod is not present. This is for the Mars sight. Not a big deal since almost no one has this sight and it goes for $1400 on eBay... but still would have been nice to have it included. This is an awesome feature that only turns on the sight when the selector is taken off safe. Save batteries.

I installed the Dlask top rail in a matter of minutes, very easy. Just don't forget to remove the cocking handle assembly FIRST... otherwise no matter how much force you put on the barrel lock, it's won't budge (guess how I know... ).

The Mepro M21 is too tall installed back on the Dlask rail to use the backup sights (and looks too tall as well). My EOTech fits nicely however and still allows for full use of the backups.

Does anyone know if we can but the Mepro M21 Quick Release mount separately?

Or has anyone planned to build a simple adapter to bolt to the bottom of the M21?

Cheers
Tim

Now to find a range and shoot this baby!

I was told that Kimber distributes/sells a weaver mount adapter for the M-21.

I temporarily "fixed" my m-21 sight wobble with pieces of an accuwedge (which also helped level the reticle) (Thanks Mark!). At least I can zero my piece now. I gotta get a better mount and sight arrangement.:(

Best groups were in the 2 1/2" range (40 kph gusts, winchester white box 223). Boy, what a BEAR of a trigger, which really wrecked some promising groups. On the flip side, when I transition to something decent, I'll have an easier time of it;)

This is my rifle

There are a few like it but this one is mine!

Just got it today :dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

Finally fired my Tavor yesterday (she ain't no virgin anymore) and got the Tavor 'mark'.

It was a quick shoot, just enough to rough in the zero and test for function, worked great without any glitches. I do prefer 20 round mag sizes when running the Tavor, gives a more balanced look and allows for rested support shooting (prone & bench).

Received my Tavor last week, but had to wait for a second shipment for the magazine, sling, and manual. Can't wait to bring it to the range next week. On the plastic bag the Tavor was packaged in, there is a date 30/03/08. Is this when the Tavor was manufactured?

Mine had the same thing. I thought it was odd.

As promised, here are the unboxing pics of my new Tavor:

Once I mounted my Dlask rail, the EOTech looks right at home:

Also fits well into my Plano case:

There are two models, if you ordered the one with the rail (the extra $300 option), the rear flip-up sight is inside the rail itself.

On the model I bought, it simply swings out from the "hump" at the rear of the rifle.

Have any pics of yours, might help if the above items don't.

Cheers
