Not having a piece of crap (my opinion) in your hands = priceless. I have one, it looks and feels like it was finished by an ape (my opinion), but shoots OK. If he only had $400 I'd recommend the Nork, but since he's got ~$1k - that opens the doors to substantially better quality.

Buy the STI.
