M&P 9mm

all pro's no con's :). Ive had 2 m&p40 and my current one is a m&p9. Great shooter. You wont regret getting one, or two

I love my M&P9... Why?
It was cheap back then, $599 Brand New.
I love the looks over the other brands.
I love how my magazine insert and drops much easier than my old and sold G21.
I love the adjust able back strap, I use the SMALL one.
I like the sights, blacked out the the rears and left the front white dot.
I love the mag disconnect feature.
I perfer metal mags over plastic.
I love how the M&P9 feels in my hands, way more comfortable than the Blocks, feels like a single stack.
I like that my M&P9 does not slap & rack (yet) when I insert a fresh magazine, at least my sold G21 did that. I hated it. But someone did ask once why my slide was open during my match? f:P: I'm learning....

True that the trigger will/may feel gritty when new but that goes away later.

You may read that there has been problems with the Striker Assembly breaking but those were the older models. I have the Rev.N and so far so good. Hopefully if you buy brand new from a store, S&W has corrected that problem.

S&W warranty/service centers are in BC and Chatham, Ont.

Bought a used M&P9. Shot it a lot. Liked it so much that I recently bought a M&P9 Pro Series. Excellent pistols. If you install the large grip, you can make one feel as blocky as a Glock.;)

I agree with those statements, is why i have one in 9mm & 40. recently had a chance to look at one up close mag is plastic, guide rod is plastic and disliked the new rough grip.
as for the gritty trigger remember there is only so much you can do with polymer firearms.
this is one solution

The Pro Series has a slightly longer barrel and therefore about 2-3oz heavier. The sights are different as well. The Pro Series has fiber optic dovetail sights for easier pick up and the Pro series rear sights are fixed. No difference in performance or quality... looking at about $100 difference in price tho...

Pro has the fiber optic front; plain, no dots rear with slightly different contour; longer barrel, slightly different slide contour, enhanced trigger. Mine has no magazine safety.

well, I guess you all sold me on one, going to get one this week. now do I go with the
9mm or 40SW
all depends on you if you can try each one out. 9mm easier to shoot to me i can recover faster for the next shot and ammo is a little cheaper. 40 got the extra punch that most like. so i guess it is the reason why i bought one of each that is the real answer BUY BOTH

9MM is less expensive to shoot. Brass is everywhere if you decide to reload. I put the Apex sear in mine, yes it takes it out of Production for IPSC, and the trigger is now crisp and breaks at just over 4lbs. Reset is significantly faster. I had a friend buy one for me and send it up from the US.

I also put a FO front sight on mine. Gun is perfect for IDPA if you shoot that sport. Works in SSP and ESP divisions.

I read on the M&P Forum guys have replaced the sear on their Pros and say it improves the trigger pull on that series as well.

Replacement of the sear is a five minute job and is easy to do...I did it and I have no mechanical ability.

Take Care

apparently the L version is IPSC Production, but the Glock 34 / 35 is not. that might be another thing to consider. i know that once i get my freakin' RPAL (been too long), i'll be going into IPSC and IDPA so i'm kinda paying attention to these types of things.
