To each there own its whatever you like....... But john .m browning started the trend Whatever you buy make sure you like to shoot it and it feels good in your paws
This should help me a lot. Earlier on I was deciding to buy my first 1911. I've been slamming them as jammamatics for years and decided to put up or shut up. I'll be following this. The OP must not care about price?
I have a smith 1911P.D. in a 4.25 barrel, love the gun and have no problems with it till late............ I think it is the ammo. I was shooting some Remington UMC 230 gr. FNEB and one round in each mag would not cycle, changed the ammo and no more problem..........
So far after serveral months of study, I found out with 1911, what you really need is a solid flame, what else doesn't matter, you can alway buy parts to keep your gun live longer then you, brand name doesn't matter; a good reliable gun only stop you to learn more, the fun part of 1911 is to learn about the design, do some modifcation etc.
