Milsurp 22LR? such thing

I've seen and used it here, but it's no bargain. Mediocre quality to begin with, been on the shelves for many a year and it doesn't improve with age. The difference from Eley Club was noticeable.

lots and lots of 22lr trainers, including single shot no7 lee enfields, and FNC1 and L1A1 conversion kits to 22lr, im sure most countries have one or had one at some point

My favorite milsurp .22. These were heavily used in Poland. I imported it from the US a few years back:

"...Milsurp 22LR?..." Rifles or ammo?
The CF uses/used IVI exclusively. The ammo has never been released for civilian sale. However, IVI did sell it commercially under the old Imperial brand name. Mediocre stuff anyway.
No. 7 Lee-Enfields appear from time to time. Not cheap though.

Cooey Model 82...single shot plinker built with full bottom wood to mimic the Enfield, issued as a trainer during the WWII years. Usually stamped with a serial number and government C/|\ marks. I believe the civilian version looks identical but lacked the serial and government marks.

BSA Model 12 or 13 (if I recall correctly)....another single shot rifle issued en masse to army cadet corps in the 20s and 30s. Usually fitted with a brass disk indicating the cadet corps in which the rifle was used.

I have a nice Cooey, but am still looking for a BSA.:)

Number 2 Lee-Enfield started as a .22 conversion from earlier fullbore rifles, then they did a whole bunch in WWI from SMLEs.

I had a DSM-34 by Mauser. Except for being a single-shot .22, you would have sworn it was about a 90%-scale Kar98. Shot really well with those awful sights, too.

I guess future milsurp .22s will be Anschutzes!

The US military has used a variety of .22 target rifles made by Remington, Mossberg, Kimber, and Winchester over the years. There was also a .22 version of the M1903 Springfield.

Austerity wartime ammo, made by ICI in limited runs for vermin control; you would probably have had to persuade the War Agricultural Committee to let you have some.
