I have a P89 DC that I am in the process of selling.
I would like to buy a .22LR pistol and am torn between the Browning Buck Mark and the Ruger Mark III.
Looking for something as an introductory small bore pistol at a reasonable price.
If you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them.
X-posting this to rimfire section as well. If I shouldn't do this, mods please do your thing!

I just took possession of a Browning Buck Mark Camper so I have to say go with the Browning//// It has a very simple design and is by all accounts reliable.:)

Smith and Wesson 422 is about the simplest pistol out there! There is one on the EE right now!

I have had great luck with my Sig Mosquito, but some say they are unreliable. Mine functions 100 percent with CCI Blazer!

I would also take a look at some of the newer offerings if you want something that looks like a real gun, like the Chiappa 1911, or the ISSC Glock clone.

If you have money to spend the CZ Kadet is the absolute cats ass if you ask me! Super simple, very accurate, and it is a full size CZ, but will run you around $900!

But if you are happy with the space gun look I would choose the Ruger 22/45!

Either would do you fine. Don't overlook the Ruger Mk.1 or Mk.2, and don't be afraid to buy used. The only ones I'd avoid like the plague are the Sig Mosquito and the Walther P22.

I have both the Browning Buckmark and Sig Mosquito (bought new).

Both work excellent with Federal bulk ammo.

The Browning requires cleaning after about 500 rounds or it gets a few FTFs.

The Mosquito requires cleaning after about 2000 rounds or it starts to get FTFs.

I have a Ruger MKIII that I've really been having some fun with. The biggest complaint that you hear about these pistols is that they're hard to dis-assemble. It's not that bad once you learn how to do it, and there are lots of videos on YouTube that show how to do it step by step. I'm finding that the Ruger isn't very picky about ammo unlike a few other models on the market.

hmm, that's not a lot of rounds before cleaning... my S&W 22A is at around 1500 now and still goes bang like a champ without a single swab of anything. decent ammo helps :D

I have done so much research on this it's stupid. here's how it plays out for me

#1 Ruger mark III 5.5" SS
#2 Browning Buckmark
#3 Ruger mark III 22/45 5.5" Bull barrel
#4 S&W 22a
#5 Neos

I've spent literally hundreds of hours researching the 22 lr pistol. Those are the conclusions i've drawn.

The Ruger mark III will eat anything u put in it. Its accurate and with the 5.5 bull barrel is a well balanced pistol, extremely durable and and all metal gun.

The buckmark is a great pistol and nearly on par with the ruger but can be finicky with ammo. Field strips easier than the ruger. All metal Gun

Ruger 22/45 series same as the ruger mark III's but polymer grip frame.

S&w great little gun. can be picky on ammo

Neos - great little pistol, lots of alloys, star trek look, great pistol

The ruger Mk3 is also available in a 5.5" stainless steel fluted barrel and is teh bomb, but the all metal ruger is a lil more $$ esp in stainless. If you want the most inexpensive bang for your buck go browning, if you want the best value for your dollar go Ruger Mk3 in a 5.5" , u will never forgret it.

Hey Mosquito haters! I have one and it is a great pistol- just keep it relatively clean and feed it good ammo. CCI Mini Mags first choice and Federal 525 bulk if you are cheap. Feed it the wrong kind and it will not work well. Simple.
