Okay, I read everything on the link, and I can say some of those guys have severe problems with basic logic, and likely little real experience in what they are commenting on.
H&H vs Ruger is too close to call based on cartridge alone. The deciding factor for me would be the rifle. If I found a nice Brno 602 at a steal of a price, I'd buy it; but I'd also buy one of those handy stainless/synthetic Ruger's at a steal price too.
What I actually bought was a Remington XCR in .375 RUM. Basically .378 Weatherby performance, but no Weatherby price. And a reloader can, of course, develop a huge range of loads with it.
