So I made the plunge today, went out and bought a brand new Glock G17 4th gen. So what kind of mods and accessories are you guys putting on your glocks? I found a website called "rock your glock" they have cool pin kits, slide release extension etc will the pin kit fit on my glock? Any other info as to what are some good mods and accessories is very much appreciated.

Thanks!

no mods, just tons of ammo for IDPA and that sort of stuff. maybe just buy a bunch of spare mags...

to some they may not need mods but i did the baisics ext slide release, mag release , pin kit , skull back plate just for looks , stainless steel guide rod and i bought a ported and polished 9mm barrel just for extra fun if i want to swap out the factory barrel i also polished the feed ramps of the origional barrel. Polished the exposed area of the chamber and the end of the barrel just for looks as well i don't know how to post pix or i would show you but eventually you'll see. Try looking at pictures in the pix section. Now i'm just waiting till i can get a crimson trace laser grip and a good tac light, i hope to change the factory sights to night sights and maybe a hogue grip i'll see. I do have trigger parts but i'm not sure yet. Most of the first upgrades i stated i think are the most important it feels a lot better to me. have fun !

Depending on whether you want to use it for competition or not, it might not be worth the hundred or so dollars to pimp out your Glock. It might be worth getting a 3.5# connector, but you should probably note that it lightens the trigger pull in the second stage by making it longer, so it's not as 'crisp' as with the 5.0# connector.

And give the metal-metal contact areas a good polish.

Personally I prefer an extended slide stop/release so I can run it more easily with my thumb. On older glocks I also like a Vickers mag release (or extended mag release, cut down to Vickers size, which is what I have on my G20).

I don't have enough experience with the Gen 4 glocks to know whether I would change out the mag release or not though. I would probably change out the slide release.

I bought a Gen. 4 Glock22 and I am finding that some parts differ from my Gen. 3. Not sure why they had to go mess with a good thing.

the 3.5lb trigger is nice, and i'm guessing not a lot of money (though are the Gen4 the same as the Gen3 or not?)

mine is still stock, haven't converted it over yet. but who knows, i might get the parts to change it just for kicks.
