Sept 4-6 Alexandra Range PEI

I don't have the official program yet but I'll post the info as soon as I do. Traditional start time is late for out of province travellers, 12pm is my guess for this year as well.

We will be shooting one relay each at 300, 500 and 600 Saturday as far as I know so its an easy start. Sunday is a full day, Monday is usually wrapped up around 1pm - 3pm or better when all goes well.

Hope to see you there.

Cheers,
Rob

Ron, Lapua 154s beat Lapua 185s in the wind, but I think you are really asking, is the match still on, as there is storm due?

Peter

The NSRA has forwarded an emal from Mitch MacLeod advising the Atlantic Chamionship is still on, even if they have to adjust a few matches. The forecast is good to go for Sunday-Monday and there's the banquet Sat evening.

Subject: Atlantics Update

Folks,

Please forward this to anyone not on the distribution list

By now everyone undoubtedly has noticed the minor weather disturbance
lingering in the Atlantic. The bad news is that most projections now narrrow
the path down to include our fair Island on Saturday. The good news is that
even if we get it full bore (so to speak) it should only affect us Saturday,
and hopefully only part of it...projections have the system well north by 9
a.m. Sunday. There are, of course, still many variables in what track Earl
might take (that's the Hurricane, not Spicer...), but regardless of the path
it seems we should get a full day in Sunday even in a worst case.

There is now (as in: this very moment) a Match Committee comprised of me,
John Marshall, and our own metoerologist Don Coleman. Congratulations
gentlemen on this great honour... I will be in contact with you tonight or
tomorrow morning regarding contingencies if we have to adjust the match
schedule or the matches themselves as a result of Earl (again, the
Hurricance, not the F-class guy..though hang on...)

As it stands, ALL SYSTEMS ARE GO FOR SATURDAY 1PM (Please think "Noon").

Please do not assume a bad forecast means no shooting. Unless the hurricane
swamps the Island - and even if it does - banquet is still on for Saturday
night, and the timing can be adjusted to reflect our needs.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the weekend.

Mitch

END.

Folks,

As a result of updated forecasts and consultations with various sources the most sensible approach appears to be to cancel Saturday afternoon, and commence the matches on Sunday morning as scheduled (0800), and continue Monday as scheduled with an extended day to fit all matches in if possible. There may be a further revision to truncate some matches or ranges so we do not go far beyond the scheduled mid day finish Monday, but the plan is to shoot all matches.

As a result the Banquet for Saturday night must be cancelled. I am happy to make arrangements for a group meal or get together of some sort for Sunday night, and will canvass interest on the range Sunday morning.

Please distribute this and share as widely as possible.

My cell number is 629-5051 and home number 672-1233. I am in court most of today and meetings but will try to stay on top of any inquiries.

Thanks for your patience and flexibility. I think we actually have the makings of a fantatsic shoot Sunday with challenging winds and sunny skies.

Regards,

Mitch

Thanks Peter, just got the call from Dale. I am very busy here at home and logged in to update this topic. I missed all the provincials including my own and will be at these Atlantics come hell or high water, or in this case both.

See you all Sunday,
Cheers,
Rob

Turned out to be a good weekend though we did have some complications. Saturday was obviously canceled as mentioned above, Sunday afternoon was called off because of high winds (gusting to 30-35mph, steady at 22+) that were actually snapping the targets and lifting them out of the frames and sending them across the range, didn't make the butt tenders feel all warm and fuzzy inside....

F-open winner(s) is easy to remember, Leo D'Amour won everything. A pleasure to meet and talk with him, as well as everyone else that showed up. Great bunch of people to shoot with and I think everyone had a good time, I know I did. I will try to get the results posted up for all to see.

Whooo, it was interesting. Leo and I were firing on target 8 at 500 when #5 broke in half because of the wind then our target blew away  The 2x6 frame in a military rack just lifted right out of the frame and up out of the pit and tumbled across the field. We shut down then fixed up 8, then it happened again. The target markers were not happy and actually were in serious danger down there so we had to delay the remainder until Monday.

Leo D'Amour was on fire, he earned first place open with distinction, never dropped a point. I find the best part about Leo coming to a match is the entertainment.
R Surett won the tr
E Spicer won the F Res The only point he dropped was his very last shot of the comp. I didn't laugh ... much.
Ron Hilchey won 2 matchs and found out the hard way our military range is marked in meters but is actually in yards. :D Great to see you again Ron.
TrxR, Ron M won a match and had a great attitude as usual.

I picked up a chair and a cooler with 4 drinks in it, only one being drinkable. If they are yours, the storage fee is the 4 drinks, the good one for me and the other 3 for guests :D

Thanks all for coming and we missed those who wanted to but couldn't.
