I know its been done to death and some of the superior minds out there will hate me for asking, but i have searched the forum and havent come up with the info on shipping from the states, i hear something about it having to be under 100$ all the time, Im ordering some micarta grips for my 1911 and a mec gar magazine so its under 100, but id rather buy all 4 mags at once, can someone tell me why i would be forced to keep it under this amount? or kindly post a link sending me to the cgn thread about it.. thanks alot

They are sticky about the $100limit. Place the order, then place another order the next day :) It's not that bad actually.
The worst is the parts that cost over $100 :(

Delivery time is 2.5weeks on average as mentioned above, although I've had a few come faster and a few take extra long (around 5 weeks.)

so if i keep it under 100$ i dont need to send them some kind of import license? or have the order verified with the US gov? Also is ups the best way to go to try and avoid some wild fee when it arrives? I really appreciate the help ive bought from the u.s before but not gun parts.

Do NOT have it shipped via UPS: they will bend you over at the border with their fees. Go with US Postal Service. You may have to pay $5+GST, but that should be it.

There shipping rate is b.s I got a slide release and the package was 10x14 or something close to that size same with a bushing wrench. on average there shipping is 23 bux for UPS on even the small stuff

Some times they give free shipping tho if your lucky :)

As mentionned, use USPS. There are different USPS options, based on which service you want - how fast, and how much you want to pay. Priority air is a more expensive USPS option, but is fast. If you aren't finding the shipping options you want ordering on the website, call them, and speak with a person.
Brownells is one of the few US firearms related businesses that welcomes Cdn. orders, and is an outstanding business from the standpoint of customer service, but they have been inspected closely, and are careful about observing US export restrictions.

Use USPS.

The $100 limit is on gun parts. Anything that is not part of a gun does not count towards the $100 limit. The mags may not be considered a gun part, I don't recall.

The best thing to do is call them. Their operators are very helpful and know the rules that they have to follow.

Mags definitely fall into the "parts" category and the 100 limit.
I ordered several for my XD and had them in my hands 8 days later.
Shipped USPS.
No complaints from me with Brownells at all.

As long as the company you order from has a export licence and its under a 100 bux your good to go

Certain parts regardless of price, require an import certificate/export permit as per the US State Department (barrels, receivers, etc.).

Non-restricted parts are subject to the dollar limit without needing permits.

thats funny because SKSman ships Barrels and Mags for The TT-33 over the 100$ limit !

My last purchase from him was 10 mags and 2 barrels

first time I placed an order it was for $150 they sent me an email about the paperwork needed. I canceled it and placed 2 order for under a $100. picked the cheapest shipping option and had the items in just over a week IIRC!

So he's either ignorant of the law or willfully breaking it. What's funny about that? Either way he can end up in a world of trouble if the Department of State catches wind... which they most likely have now, by reading your post.

Really good idea to announce this on a public forum which is routinely monitored by law enforcement agencies. He will no doubt very much appreciate this publicity.

Surely you must have obtained a IIC to enable him, as a licenced exporter, to obtain the required US DOS export permit.

It's actually $200 for Canada. Brownells will only ship $100 to save on paperwork because all other countries are $100. Numerich ships to $200. I just got 6 mags for my Baretta 92fs from them on Friday
