IMR 4350 in 7.62x54r w/ 174 gr, what manual?

Anyone running this combo? Picked up some 174gr BTHP .312 bullets and IMR 4350. I'm away from my manuals right now but I'm pretty sure this should be in there.

Any experiance with this package? It's going to be going in a 1943 91/30 nagant.

I was using 150gr Speers with 3031 which worked great but then 150gr PRVI with same powder and it was terrible.

Figure a heavier round with slower powder should get me where I want to be, what do you think?

I'm using imr 4350 / imr 4831 - 58.8 gr = 2840 (+/- 35) f/s in 30-06 - 165/68 gr Speer Spitzer in 23.5 inch barrel in factory 06 Tikka rifle for deer medicine with heavy crimp
Shoots great but it's my back up and Sako shoots little better with same recipe
 
So my manual doesn't have IMR 4350, only H4350 which is different. Is there a manual out there with this combo? I had to look forever to find IMR 3031 with 150's so if someone wants to help me out with some numbers or a manual that has it, fill me in!

Time to buy a .308 or .30-06 so I have loads all over the place! Russians.....
 
Six books checked. Only 2 have data for that powder and bullet combo. Be careful with the higher end charges. Start well below the start charge and work up slowly, checking for signs of pressure or failure. Not even a listing in the IMR data manual I have. Not a popular US round so they didn't work on it. Also found a reference in the Cartridges of the World book. Only it is for a 220gn bullet. Best I could do.

Thanks man, turns out my book has it, sierra like yours. Will take it easy. Sierra says imr 4350 with that round for their accuracy load. Could be good.

Why is it, that when someone asks a completely specific question, looking for specific answers, posts come back with absolutely nothing to do witht he question. Do people have such an uncontrollable urge to hear (see) themselves talk (type) that they have to offer useless suggestions anyway? I mean, really, OP asks for data on a 7.62X54R cartridge, IMR 4350 powder, and a 180gn bullet and the first reply is load data for pet laod in a .30-06??? Is that supposed to be helpful? Or another post that tells the OP to look in the Hodgdon data site, even though that data doesn't exist, without looking to check to see if you can actually help out? While Hodgdon does indeed list numerous powder data, not just "H's", this is not a popular cartridge south of the border, so there is no additional data on this site.

Seriously, if you have nothing to add, keep quiet! You only clog up the actual info anyone is trying to post.
 
I run IMR4350 with Sierra 174 grain .311 matchkings. I use 53.5 grains in a Graf case with Federal LRP. Shoots 1.5" (sometimes 1") groups at 100 yards out of my Polish M44 carbine. The impact point is 4" lower than the sights put it on the 100 meter setting, much closer on the 200 meter setting. It is a nice load, the bolt has no stiffness for extraction and the primers look good. Recoil is a nice big shove, unlike the Sierra .311 125 grain loads I experimented with, which was a quick sharp snap. The longer barrel on your 91/30 will take advantage of the powder a bit better than the short barrel on the M44 Carbine. I would recommend working up to this load as it is nearly maximum. Check for sticky bolt and double check the fired primers for pressure signs.
 
Not sure if that RN data is okay for HPBT? Maybe someone can fill me in.

My Sierra book has 174gr HPBT in with 180 SPT's at 48.7 min to 53.5 max.

Anyone got any tips for me with compressed loads? I'm going to google it but thought I would ask.

Haha, yeah your right rookie... to funny. Anyways gents, thanks for the good info hopefully when someone else is looking for a sub .25 MOA super load for thier 100 dollar 194? Nagant they will stumble across this one! If i ever have a chance to make it to the range i'll post some results.
