It was a bad choice afterall, what with these damned sub inch groups.
And stupider shooter, blowing several sub half inch groups and knowing it.

This was the best group I got today using factory Winchester 100 grain Power Points. The T3 didn't like the Federal stuff at all. I picked up some 90 grain Ballistic tips on the way home, plus I've got some 95's here to. I'll load up a few different charges and try again. I really need to invest in a solid rest. I was doing all my shooting off a sandbag and I know this rifle can do far better then I will allow it.

I was able to get 0.5" groups out of my Tikka T3.....with factory ammo (non-premium).

Great rifles, no doubt....if we can only build better shooters :D

I have a hunter in 6.5x55.

First trip to the range shot 8 5 shot groups with two different powders(H4831sc and re22) with 129 gr Hornady spirepoints that averaged less than .8 inches. One 5 shot group was .42 with 4 bullets in the same hole.

New Vs older Tikkas

Do the pre-plastic Tikkas shoot as well or better?
I have a plastic (actually laminate) T3, but have seen some m65s and older Tikkas that peak my interest.
