Guys, who can recommend a solid BB course near Toronto? Target sports, Sharon OK, anything else would be a slight stretch. I heard there's something coming up in Aurora in November, but don't remember the details. TIA.

Check out the IPSC Ontario web site:

It looks like there are a couple of courses running next month.

I believe **** **** is running the BB course at the Aurora Gun Club on Nov 19-21. Everyone I know speaks highly of him. I'll be there for my BB.

Kent is one of the best IPSC instructors in the province and is currently the IPSC Ontario Black Badge Coordinator. And a really good guy to boot...

aridan, if you sign up for the AGC BB course, PM me and we'll coordinate on who will bring the corn bread, and who brings the green skittles. ;)

LOL originally I'm from Russia, so the green skittles don't excite me much - unless we make Skittles Vodka. :D

I've heard only good things about **** ****, so I'll try to sign up if he's not fully booked yet.

I'll have to think quickly though which pistol to bring with me. Once decided, I'll have to scramble to get a holster + extra mags.

Oh, I like that :)

In my experience, Kent has responded quickly to inquiries in his role as IPSC BB Coordinator.. Just fire off a message to him and you'll know quickly.

I'll be using my CZ Shadow, so I ordered a Bladetech DOH holster, DAA belt and Ghost Mag Pouches from Josko @ Double Tap Sports (sponsor). Those arrived quickly enough.

Hope to see you there!

He had replied this morning, he still has space available. Now, I have to decide on the gun & whether there's enough time to get all the extras I need. The Shadow is my 2nd choice. I really would like to use the GP6-C I got a couple of weeks ago, but it is not broken in yet. I do like its trigger and recoil (or lack of) better than the Shadow's though.

Thanks for the equipment info. I had ordered from Josko's site before. How did you know if the Blade-Tech he's got is for the Shadow? Also, did you get the Ghost 360 pouches? I'm totally new to competition equipment. I have 4 mags for the Shadow, only 2 mags for the GP6-C, and I still need the holster, belt, and mag pouches.

Gee, it's such a shame that you don't know someone with mags, pouches, and a holster you could borrow.
No way, Jose. First, you're too generous as it is. Second, this would mean leaving you magless, pouchless, and holsterless for a whole weekend. Third, I'm supposed to have my own equipment and not to borrow it, that's what the site says. Last, and probably most important, I need to be absolutely sure that my GP6-C behaves well before I decide to use it for competition.

Thanks for the offer & for the extractor info. I'l try to clean up the extractor ASAP & go back to the range. If this doesn't solve it, I'll have to give Sean a call, and then either wait for a replacement GP6-C & forget about Nov.19-21 course, or go with the Shadow.

Option No.3: use my XDM-40, it came with a holster (mind you, I don't know if it's any good), I need 2 more mags, mag pouches, and a belt. I'm pretty comfortable with it, too.

I'll be shooting a (relatively) new Shadow, with < 1000 rounds through it as of today. But by the time the course rolls around, I'll probably have put an additional 300-500 through. Anyway, yes I bought four Ghost 360 mags plus a magnet. I wasn't sure how I would want to set up my mags along my belt, so I went for the pouches with the most flexibility in that regard. I'll be picking those up this week from Josko @ Double Tap.

Anyway I'm looking forward to the course, and of course to meeting a fellow CGN'er :) And PH he deems to show up and judge us, lol.

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention -- I'll be detail stripping my Shadow a week prior to the course to clean out all the accumulated crud, particularly from the extractor. Kent recommended it, and I totally agree.. who wants to have their pistol fail during their course because it is dirty. I will be shooting it prior to the course though, just to make sure everything works the way it should.. ;>

It's ok, I've seen him shoot, probably won't affect his score :D
Seriously though, borrow his stuff and get out to the course!

Green skittles and cornbread are on thing but mentioning his name in full on a forum kinda irritates him.
Sorry... As a rule, I'd never do it - but your name does comes up when looking for contact person on the IPSC site, so I thought your identity is widely known. Won't happen again...
