Unbelieveable

Sounded like a kid doing the taping. Hopefully he'll turn out better than these a$$hats.

Wish the RCMP would investigate this stuff. His account details would be a good start. Good to see the comments he gets in his channel are unmistakeably negative.

Not ethical, but the guy seems to shoot from outside the vehicle, from a forest road so while it's ugly, it's not illegal (here anyways).. Internet is really a magnet for dumbs.
If it's in Qc, I bet it's in Gaspésie but it sounds more NB, to me. But who knows. It really can be anywhere.

First of all they're definately from N-B just by listening to them speaking... and going through their Youtube account I got my confirmation... I see why they're hunting with a truck... Did you see that fat kid with his attempt at running... and they call themselves hunters!

Umm, guys...you do realize that this is how a huge number of people hunt moose for the 3 day season in NB, right?

It's like gridlock on the woods roads during moose season. Guys just cruising around 'truck hunting'.

I'm not sure what the law says about shooting on forestry roads in NB but I'm pretty sure it's legal. He didn't shoot from inside the truck.

I don't know if they call themselves hunters or not, maybe they just want their moose... It's not my style but this is how many people do it. Same goes for Nfld.

He may have broken the law when he got back in the truck if his rifle was still loaded.

Just to be clear, I'm not advocating this style of 'hunting', but I find it a bit amusing to read the comments expressing such shock and dismay over this. This is very common. I'm sure they posted it on youtube because they thought it was a cool hunting video.

Hell, I've even seen a dork sitting in a treestand built right beside the road on a long straight stretch with pulp trucks roaring by constantly in both directions. Oh yeah, what a nice relaxing day of hunting that would be....

As for the 'fat kid running', I'm pretty sure that was a 'middle aged run'. Besides, you get stiff sitting in a truck all day.
Seriously though, how would you run while carring a loaded rifle? I know that on the odd occaision that I've had to do it, it felt a bit like that looked....

So these guys were "truck hunting" and people are having a hernia about it? Why?

I wouldn't expect you to get it, or at least so suggested your own run out of the truck and spray at a bear and paunch hit it thread. The big deal is the vast majority of us that hunt on this board, hunt better than this. This is the fat and lazy way that gives us a black eye in public.

So true. The worst part is, this is the only type of 'hunting' that the majority of non-hunters see.

Nobody sees the guys who hike way back in the woods and put some effort into it.

A lot of people think hunting is driving around in trucks half drunk and shooting anything that moves.

On the other side of the coin, if no laws are broken and the animal is killed cleanly, who am I to judge? For some, 'hunting' isn't the point, they just want a freezer full of meat.

As for me, and I'm sure the majority of CGN members feel this way too, I'm just happy to go hunting. Whether I get anything or not is secondary.

Can't disagree with any of that, but I suppose the truth is that the vast majority of hunters are not on this board. It certainly is the fat and lazy way to hunt, and it certainly does not play well with the non-hunting public. Is it unethical? That's a more difficult question. Some folks consider hunting from a baited stand to be unethical. What bothers me most about the video is shooting along a roadway, and where you don't have a good view of what lies around the corner (other vehicles, folks on foot, etc).

So who's to say these guys weren't moving from one area to another and just happened to see a moose standing on the trail? Are you saying that in the sense above they should just let it go then and continue on to the spot where they were planning on starting their hike?

Hunters are truly their own worst enemies.

I've hunted by horseback, by hiking, by waiting in a tree stand, by stalking, and by driving around.

So what makes one better than another? To some baiting an animal is the lowest form of hunting since it's not really a hunt at all if you know the animal will be there for it's next meal. Unless Im mistaken the definition of "Hunt" to pursue, to search, to seek out, etc. (no offense meant to anyone who baits, just making a point)

So tell me then is riding horseback while looking for game then bad? What is the difference between a vehicle and my horse? Both are not me walking and hoping to see something while riding through an area. Only difference is I can get more places with my horse than I can with a truck.

My cousin can't walk due to battling Melanoma in his foot, we took him out hunting last weekend and it had to be from a truck. So I guess in your eyes he shouldn't have been hunting at all then? He could only move a matter of about 5 or 6 feet.

What about people that are handicapped that are allowed to shoot from inside a vehicle, are they supposed to stop hunting as well?

Or maybe it's the fact of being on a "road/trail" which is the problem? So is hiking down such a road or trail and seeing something and shooting something wrong?

Oh and as for that bear, yes I was in a truck when I seen him but it was hardly SPRAYING you drama queen. I fired one round and hit him (yes not in the perfect spot) but he went down and was pretty much dead by the time we got there about 2 minutes later. Oh and I didn't hit him in the paunch

And just for your info, I prefer horseback riding or hiking when hunting.

My bad, you're right, you hit the bear even farther from the vitals, in the back end. I'm curious how that makes a quick kill shot. You also stated in your thread you were unfamiliar with the rifle you were shooting, and shot at extremely long range on a moving target, ultimately wounding it after you jumped out of the truck to shoot. So again, no I don't believe you'll see what's wrong with this video.

Was the shooter in a wheelchair? Unable to walk? To most of us that looked like a guy cruising forestry roads and jumping out blazing at the first moose he saw. About as low as hunting gets for most of us. I guess if all that matters is meat in the freezer, and one doesn't care how it gets there... the silly part is this isn't even the best way to hunt, or the most successful, or ethical. It's just the laziest. That's why it was posted. If he was handicapped, beyond being rather apparently out of shape, I understand. He wasn't, nor are you. Hardly drama queen commentary, but if it makes you feel better call me one again.
