Ok so who has done what to their SVT-40's?? I have one coming and I am thinking of doing up a stock like a dragunov of course in wood!! SO if you have moded ones from minor to WTF post up your pics please. Lets get this started!! Oh and ideas for spare mags?? Are there other mags that fit, I don't think there is but I am asking anyways!!

Well I have a non refurb already that I would not even shoot. I spent 3 hours at the store going through all of the SVT's he had and picked the most perfect one i could, I even pulled it out of the stock to make sure it was untouched.

This one is my shooter, I want to make it feel more functional, possibly increase its accuracy, and she will be my hunting range queen. I love these guns but since she is a refurb its collectability is not there also the stock has been banged a little and I am sure I saw a repair at the grip like alot of them have had. I am not one to tryt to improve on perfect, this gun is not perfect so I feel I can make some improvements. I am far from being a noob with modifying my guns but i am looking to make a stock, posp mounted scope if the receiver thickness is good enough or a stock sniper mount.

Regardless of refurb status the rifle is indeed still collectable. Please, dont bubba an SVT. If you want a semi auto rifle you can mess around with look at a commercial rifle.

For the love of all things milsurp please, please dont.

Word of advice Drewz- put this thread in the Red Rifles Forum, you're killing these guys. It's a nice gun as is, but it's your gun, do what you will, just don't share it here unless you like abuse...
Sounds like a neat project, are you sure you can't find a previously bubba'd gun to do?

The SVT is perfect the way that it is. Add a bunch of plastic and it looks like a Fischer-price toy, adding that it will probably never shoot as good as it did before you screwed it up. Mine is pristine, awesome and shoots like a dream. Keep doing what you're doing, it just makes ours much more valuable in the long run. Stupified rifles loose value, not gain.

I thought this was an SVT #### thread. I guess I'll be your purveyor of smut this evening:adult:

Hmmm, I'm hungry;)

Ok I am unsure why everyone is assuming that I am going ot make any permanent mods?? Tuning the trigger, changing the stock and adding an original styled sniper mount for an optic is all reversable. Everyone likes to throw out the bubba word without reason.

This was posted in the red rifle section but a Mod moved it.

Did I say I was cutting the barrel? Chopping the stock? :confused:The milsurp section is known for this assumtive mudslinging banter but I still hold out hope that sensible people will just answer the simple question originally posted.

If you are a purist stop reading now as nothing anyone will ever say in this thread will make you happy. I have nothing against purists, alot do feel the need to force their opinions on others as seen in this post. Please add information to the post and its original question please. If you feel that strongly I do not touch my SVT then I will sell it to you for $1,000.00 so you can save it from a "certain" horrible death. :p

ROO5t3r, that is a great looking example. Do you have any information about the scope and mount or did you get it that way??
