Hey Guys!

I put up an order to Tradex for a Lee Enfield and a Mosin Nagant. I heard a lot of good stuff from these boards so I'm sure I won't be disappointed. They should be here in 4 to 5 business days. I'll post when they get here with pictures.

And I went with the Hex Receiver.

Good choices if you're starting into loading your own ammo: .303 and 7.62x54R use the same bullets, same primers, same powders. Each one will have it favourite load, of course, but you will only need one basic set of components to make them both rangeworthy. Cheaper than factory stuff, too....... and better.

You'll have fun.

I just got the package at 5pm. Took them out to have a look and took the best pictures I could. The Mosin is an arsenal refinish, the Lee isn't.

Haven't yet examined the bores yet, but other then the nicks in the crown I'd say they're in a condition I'm happy with, thus far.

Looking good! Tradex has really impressed me with their stuff.

Enjoy cleaning too. My mosin was so coated I could barely hold onto it when I got it :p

I've never seen a sling like that on a No4. The paint is on the swivel and sling both, so it seems intentional. Contact Tradex and ask them where it came from. They will be happy to give you whatever information they can, within reason of course.

Many of those dents, will iron out with a clothes iron and cloth or even one of the cheap Canadian Tire steamers. The steamer, will also make the cosmoline disappear easily and without much mess.

Don't worry about those dings on the muzzle. They haven't deformed anything and are cosmetic only.

I was just thinking how much work you've got ahead of you... and how much I envy you. Nice buy!

Thanks guys. I'll shoot Tradex an e-mail to see if I can get the Lee Enfield's history. There isn't many markings left on it but I'll do some research to find out. And thanks about the toes... I was sleeping when UPS came to my house.

And I take enjoyment out of cleaning my rifles!

I've purchased several items from Trade-Ex, an excellent bunch too deal with. Have fun firing that Mosin, they are real shoulder thumpers. Make sure to dismantle the bolts and get all the crud out and most of all have fun. Happy shooting.

I got a laminated M44 and an SVT40 from Tradex. They seem to have the most reasonable pricing for MilSurps, and are good, reputable people to deal with.
BTW, aerosol brake cleaner works the best for removing cosmo from metal....
