PMAG's on sale...

I'm ok with wear on my gear...adds character. I've pinned and imported many, many pmags. No reason for it to look all F**ked up when you buy it new. The simple way is to properly countersink the rivet and not grind it down. But hey, if you're cool with buying a $15 dollar mag for $25 bucks fly at her!

Exactly!

Well,

I just received those new Pmag from Questar, mine are black, and really you have to look with a microscope to see that they have been shaved.

They fit in my LMT perfectly, and they drop freely.

Mark don't listen to the (nothing makes them happy), keep bringing nice stuff.

Because of the flash you see the shaving, in reality you have to look hard to see it.

Got me thinking about how much of a pain it would be to pin them this way, now Im curious if it wouldnt it be WAY easier to just use a center drill? or a stepdrill?

All I did was use a 1/8th bit for the rivet hole and then a larger diameter bit in reverse to shave away enough material to allow the head of the rivet to sink down. That was my poor man's solution. Worked very well and clean. If I used the large bit going forward, it bites too much into the soft plastic.

I'm sure there is more professional ways, but this is what was available and it only took a few minutes to do a large amount of mags.

OK, rookie question about pinned mags. Still waiting for my RPAL.
How can you clean and maintain them? Wouldn't the pin prevent you
from sliding the follower & spring out from the bottom of the mag?

got some from them.. dropping free and can be inserted on the closed bolt in my Norinco M4gerry. not sure if microscope needed or camera flash effect, but you can clearly see "worked" area where pin was inserted.. doesn't bother me a bit as function is not affected and after couple trips to the range they will get some beating and will not look clean anyway.

Ordered a couple so I could understand the hype of P-mags.

Ordered Wed at lunch online, in my hands Thursday evening. Awesome service, KUDOS to Questar.
