Tanfoglio?

This is one I had in the UK pre ban, its now been melted down and distroyed by the government in a bid to curb rising crime.

Have the Model "L" for IDPA and IPSC Production. Over 4,000 rds through it in both 9MM and .40cal. Yet to have a FTF of any kind. Trigger pull in D/A now is quite acceptable and smooth.

Finish is a step up on my Shadow but the latter balances better in my hands.

Here's a question - I have a Gold Eric in .38 Sup., bought it used, no idea how many rounds, it rattles and shoots amazing, exactly as you said. I noticed that the edges of the lock grooves on both the barrel and the frame start to loose that sharp edge and become rounded. Is it a big deal, does it mean it's a beginning of an end?????
 
I'll have a detailed review of the 10mm Combat model up next week. So far I am not impressed. I don't think this gun is gonna last long unless I water down my loads to .40 S&W levels...
 
my .40 Limited Custom is going strong still, I purchased it in early 2008. I also have it tricked out with Henning components. I since purchased another stock2 in Gun kote finish, and it did need some Extractor tuning. It works like an old school sewing machine; ONly thing that stops it is when the mags run dry.
I also purchased a .22 kit, and after some fussing with it, finally got it working ok. Some are like that with the .22 kits,...also the ammo you choose can make it work better. I also purchased a mount, a C-more STS sight, and a compensated .40 barrel from Freedom Ventures. I mounted these parts to my Limited Custom, put a lighter weight recoil spring in, and shot Open at a few matches. Worked well.
 
I have a Tan Stock (original,not with the long dust cover) in 9mm,I like it a lot,nicely made and finished,very reliable and shoots well.My only gripe with it is that its trigger is pretty miserable as it comes out the box,heavy and very creepy with lots of backlash.

I think that Tanfoglios ,without a doubt are a step up from CZs,but having said that.Im still not sure whether they are that much better to justify the almost double the price(comparing the shadow to the stock 2).Still,if you are willing to fork out the $$$s,you will be happy with it
 
I bought an 'L' Model from Armco in 2007....I shouldn't have sold it; for the price it was an excellent gun in fit, finish and reliability. It ate anything I had and was a blast to shoot.
As with CZ/Tanfoglio pistols the ergonomics were excellent as well.
 
i had a witness 1911 and had some trouble with it.i had to replace the slide stop and the mag release catch.both mags also gave me trouble.it was famous for "stovepiping" the last round and the slide would slam shut on a empty mag.that said i wasnt a fan but maybe i just got a lemon.i made lemonade and bought a colt 1911.lol just my opinion,not lookin for a fight with tan fans.
 
I have a Tango HC Limited Custom in .40.
I also have an open .357sig top end.

Hennings grips, trigger, firing pin, guide rod, ... heck, its a Tango with all the Hennings guts in it. That's an easier list!

Love the gun, Gunnar is doing some tuning on the sig barrel and comp, i sure hope to have it back soon!

Tanfo's love slightly larger OAL rounds, and with a light polish on the feed ramp, the gun goes back into battery so smooth, you cannot feel the round coming up the ramp.

Love the gun... what's and STI? LOL, buddy has one (awesome in its own right), and I will still take my Tango any day.

I just wanted to chime in with my support for the Tanfoglio Limited Custom. I bought one after struggling with my XD9. As others have said its an amazing gun and the ergonomics really helps with my shooting. Was so impressed... i bought another... Here's a pic of my first one before i tricked it out with henning grips..

My Tan Twins..

I purchased the LC at CRAFM... They were running at about $1800... I got the LC II at the Woodjoint in Brandon Manitoba, it was $2200...


Here's a pic of both my Tan Twins.. The difference is the slide lightening cuts in the LC II..

rdgeitz....your the perfect person to ask....Which do you prefer? Is there a difference when shooting them? Do the slide cuts make the Ltd Cus II run better/faster/smoother?

To tell you the truth.. i can't really tell the difference. It may make a very small difference in the cycle time.. probably in 1/100s of a second but i do enjoy shooting both of them.. i cant really tell in my times when i use either.. perhaps its because im not the best shooter ... LOL ... But i will tell you that having this gun has really helped my shooting immensely.. I do use the LC II in competition.. the LC is my backup gun but have been using it alot lately trying to get that Henning trigger to work on my LC II... Both are very fast and accurate..
