What if noone bought a tag or hunted next year? The reason this is a what if is because noone will probably go along with it, but it would be the best way of getting the attention of the government, because of the money they get from it. I think we could turn the heads of some Liberals and bring attention of it to the media. If the media is going to leave us to rot half the time, we might as well use them against the antis for once. Just saying.

Its the Provincial Government that collects the fees. I doubt the Feds would give a crap. Either way, I'm not forfeiting next years hunting season to make a political point. However, you can if you so choose.

it would be a good ideal but the reality of it is people dont stick together like they say they will.

were i live we got over 5000 names on a patition to put an antler restriction on whitetail deer gave it to the nescesary goverment officials they just roled there eyes and did nothing the goverment does not care..

The only money going to the government from our hunting licenses and fees is the now HST, before all monies taken in by the MNR for hunting is supposed to be in a Conservation Wildlife Fund anyhow. At least it is supposed to be this way in Ontario, so the only one you would be hurting is the wildlife and ourselves.

That would only increase the rates as they are budgeting with the dollars collected now.
As far as getting caught without a tag, they would prosecute each and every one caught, one infraction at a time. Would you like to be the one that they decided to set an example on? Me, I like my free time. Go legal or stay home.

This would be an asinine move, and I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish. Feeling special perhaps. It would only hurt wildlife management and mess up our future hunting due to a loss of control with regards to numbers and ###/maturity of animals taken in respective areas. The Federal government wouldn't give two ####s as it's a provincial matter in every province, and the provinces don't operate whatever it is you're thinking you'll protest. All in all, an abismal idea.

The area I hunt produces 200"+ mule deer every year. There is no benefit great enough from anyone that would get me to take a year off. Not only that I fear for my sanity if I don't spend at least 30 days in the field during the fall waiting for the next adrenaline rush...

..

AMEN!

I wish I had a nickel for every gutless candya$$ I know that said they would NEVER comply with the registry.....I guess they meant until it became law that is.
Those same loudmouths were the some of the first in line to get their PALs and regi their rifles...pfffft.

A little civil disobedience never hurt any cause imho.

When registration eventually leads to confiscation,as it no doubt will....well,I hate to say "I told you so....but I told ya so". :slap:

might be lots of folks not buy tags...doubt they'd stop hunting...

Just like they did here in Ontario about 10 years ago when the MNR was on strike? Man there was alot of poaching going on then.......then after that came huge cutbacks and the C.O's were not given any money for patrols. After years of non-enforcement and then a bit of money in the budget for patrols I wonder why they set a record high in laying charges and animals seized this past season? ABOUT TIME!!!:) Now if we can get rid of Mc Guinty and put someone in office who actually thinks WILDLIFE MATTERS we will have it made, I hope!!d:h:

Go ahead and do it. The first thing that would happen is the fish cops and their handlers would be wondering where their payroll was going come from. The second thing would be the outfitter's association would offer a solution............................................:slap:
